Atlanta game

Did anyone watch the Atlanta game? From the stats it looked like thier offense had a GREAT game. Julio had over 100 yds with the ones. Looks like they have been working hard on their long ball. One of my employees is a Falcon fan and he wont shut up about them. I cant fire him and every time I say something he brings up the bounty thing. Maybe i can find a way to throw him in the oven.

Halo 08-10-2012 02:35 PM

They lost another middle linebacker. That's gotta hurt. 2nd this offseason.

He's a good kid who played right down the street from me.

The Falcons don't deserve this kid at all.

Yea. Thats what has me concerned. Against a historically strong defense. Hopefully it was against the backups.

Guess we'll be shoving the run down their throat! Sucks to be the Falcoons.

Re: Atlanta game

Mike Smith is a retard! no way you play your starting MLB on special teams! With Dent and Lofa both injured, bet they wish they would have kept Lofton! :bng:

Re: Atlanta game

Baltimores defense was missing a few starters and the middle of the field was wide open all day. Jones made some good catches esp the TD catch. Ray Lewis would of REALLY helped on D lol
Atl offense really took it to them. Balt would cram the line and ryan would pass it right over them. Atls run game was not too good last night.
Baltimore as a team sucked last night

Lofton looking like an absolute beast so far for the Saints. He’s 10-15 lbs trimmer, and running around the field like a heat seeking missile. Lofton appears headed for stardom withe Saints, witnessed by a couple of highlight reel hits and a fumble recovery in only a couple of series. He will be a big upgrade over the oft injured and aging Jonathan Vilma. What in the he!! was Dimwit thinking? Homers and dreamers can say all they want, but not re-signing Lofton may play out to be a catastrophic loss for the Falcon defense. My gut tells me it will wind up being just that!
A comment from the link Halo posted! :bng:

Julio Jones is being farmed for the Saints.
He's almost ripe enough to pick up.

Maybe next year.

Exactly. When your third choice is now your starter, you don't put him on special teams. Smith couldn't find one guy that's on the bubble that he'd like to see on special teams? No way he thought that through.

Wait for it.... Wait for it....... You don't need to do anything Dude. Let the season speak for you instead.

They can have Shanle. Btw it was good to see him with the 2nd and 3rd team.

Re: Atlanta game

They did actually look pretty good offensively. But as you guys know, they can look good at times anyway. They look to be the second best team in our division and our two games against them will be challenges, like always. Agree with Dude, they can have Shanle for a bag of chips, unless they don't have any chips, then for whatever they have.

It was the interception in the Red Zone. He hit that defender right on the numbers.

They have a great offense, but, they can't go blow for blow with us, and they have no killer instinct. Plus Smith will be in panic mode during crunch time.

and we have beaten them 10 of 12, including 5 of 6 in Atl

Re: Atlanta game

being its the falcons, I dont believe in the hype or the fact they are that good especially on offense.

I havent quite figured out if the 1st qtr was a result of the Ravens lack of starters in the game, or perhaps the Ravens dont matchup very well with the Falcons for some reason. Once 2nd string and 3rd string guys got in, they pretty much had their way with the Falcons.

With Dent injury, Falcons take another hit at middle linebacker | Atlanta Falcons

In our new scheme a MLB is not a big deal, we play Nickel 70-80% of the time!

nope it was on the first drive against the Baltimore first D, we cant duplicate you guys 100% but if Matt can sling it to Julio and Roddy like he was during the regular season we will be close enough!

I wish you guys would have saw the game for your selfs our 1s on both side of the ball were lights out! We actually had a pass rush and finally got 3&outs!

Mike Nolan is a freaking genius, this year will be interesting hopefully this season we can do something with you guys!

How is that? In Nickel you still have your MLB on the field...

Our starters owned their starters put the bums in after the 1st quarter and they couldnt bust a grape with a sledge hammer! Simple enough right?

I would make sure all the Ravens starters were in, someone said 3-4 of the starters was out, most notable at CB and Safety.

No, in the nickel formation a extra DB is brought in and the only LBs that are on the field are OLBs, look it up if you have to!

Football 101: Nickle, Dime and Quarter Packages

Different packages, in Mike Nolans we have only OLBs like this!

Cant pay a man with only one trick, he's right where he wanted to be anyway!

Just thinking; nickel 80% of the time... A good rushing team will kill you, if you stay in nickel

Mike Nolan shut Ray Rice out for the time he was in and it has worked with every other D he has coached, so Im not worried. On another note how is Spags coming along?

That's what I was thinking. Ingram's gonna have a field day running up the middle if they substitute the mike backer for a corner 80% of the time.

Very well, 4 turnovers in 2 games... Held Tom Brady to 0 points with a sack fumble which Lofton recovered, and that's without our starting CBs in the game
