Maybe you should wait to bet when the regular season gets here.

Re: Spags defense

Spags just gives the D-line more time to get to the QB. Zone coverages provide Defensive lines more time to rush the passer because plays take longer to develop. In zone the DBs and LBs are looking at the QB more rather than having to look at the man they are supposed to cover, therefore the hot route can be jumped for easy interceptions.

Re: Spags defense

I have seen some things I liked so far...

But I don't know if I would call it much of an improvement but then again its preseason.

Re: Spags defense

Lets just say this.. Spags is known for having shut down great QB's.

Saints last year against the Rams: (one of only three times we have been held to less than 300 ttl yards in regular season in the last three seasons)
269 yards passing for Brees
47% third down efficiency
56 rushing

Giants against the Patriots (undefeated Brady year) SB XLII
229 yards passing for Brady
50% third down efficiency
45 rushing

I recall the multitude of times I heard the mention of GW's prolific defenses... I never saw it with the Saints in his three years in New Orleans.

We were 25th in Defense in 2009 when we won the Super Bowl.
Our Offense has always been the winner of our games since GW arrived. We only had THREE games where opponents scored less than 21 points that season.

In three seasons with GW we only held our opponents to less than 21 points 20 times out of 48 regular season games. 59% of the time our opponents were throwing up 21 points or more.....

Fk Greg Williams ... good riddance.... adding bounty gate to the list... and Ill le Samuel Jackson speak on my behalf about GW

Re: Spags defense

last year Spags held the Packers to I think 24 pts to, which at the time was low by Packer Standards at that point in the season when they were putting up 30-40+ pts a game like we were. I dont know how much of that 24 was defensive points.

I know when I looked at Spags last year, that offense in STL was horrific, they turn the ball over 2 times a game usually, it made things look bad sometimes. But Spags and his defense even with alot of backups could get the job done, this is why I am seeing a 180 with the Saints defense, all of a sudden what look like weak points or lack of depth at a position, is stronger and deeper.

I hate to over exaggerate, but this could be a very very sick defense, something we havent seen since in quite some time.
