Halo (Mark Clark) and many others behind the scenes have invested a lot of time and effort into this website. How would you rate it overall (including the added features, appearance, moderators, etc.) overall?

This is a good site, and we're about to embark on a Championship run. Glad Black & Gold.com is here... especially for those of us who reside outside of the Louisiana Gulf Coast region.

And since the server move it's the fastest I visit...

I've seen a lot of posts here... that get RE-POSTED elsewhere.

The site I don't like that much is nola.com There is virtually NO moderating of the site; with vulgar profanity, calling out others, and other things that are shameful.

BlackAndGold.com raises the bar high, and it's an honor to be a part of it. All of you who visit the site regularly... are to be commended as well.

I couldn't ask for a better site! Saints fans here are so intelligent as people and refreshingly knowledgeable about the team. This is the only place I go for Saints news! Keep up the great work guys!

Dont change anything. I am a noob, as my IT specialist, who's never touched a live woman, calls me. Its easy to get around here. If you change anything, make it do less things. If you just want to make it a gold screen with words (and some pictures), that would be ok with me.

Halo is an awesome dude, on and off the field, and I think the moderation is just right. Our reputation is that everything goes. In reality, you can do and say more here, but a$$h@les get shown the door.

I dont know what a server is, but if the server is what makes things turn on faster, then we are the John Holmes of servers. I also dont know what a bandwith is, but I try to not use so many words, so you can save bandwith.

I scoped this site out, after a nasty experience at Site X. I saw supposed Saints fans call each other names you wouldnt get called in Atlanta. Also, their Boy Love Clique was very territorial. Archie Manning himself wouldnt be welcome there.

The Posters on this site rock. We're older, more mature, friendlier, and have lives. I came here to be a Saints fan and talk to other Saints fans, and talk about stuff I love: football, Louisiana / Gulf Coast Life, etc. A bunch of people here have been to my house, or have met me at the Superdome in person, and I expect to meet more this season.

This isnt just some internet site. This is an online Saints Tailgate Party.

I would rate it 150. This is absolutely the best site i have ever been on. The posters are knowledgable without being arrogant and we are allowed to speak our minds without getting banned on the spot. Posters here have are more mature than that other site and we don't have some fat arse slob doing goofy pre game speeches that make people sick.

all in all i have been on about every site there is for the saints. i stay here for solid info and the class of people i have met here. two thumbs to all the real football fans that love their saints that seem to keep coming back .... like me :)

Unbelievable site. So much better than any forum I have seen. If anything, it's too good, and I spend way too much time on it. I try to explain to my wife that it is more than Saints football, that some of the most intelligent people on the internet are on here.

Oh, I do have one complaint; I am not smart enough to download pictures that fit the pixel range.

This is the Best Saints site on the web, second to none. Great guys and ladies. This is the place to get all your New Orleans Saints news. Great Saints fans make up the best site.

I've been coming here for over a decade on and off and having managed to avoid being banned a time or three I can honestly say this is the best location for New Orleans Saints information on the web bar none. Great people who really dig deep and post relevant articles and insight are all over this site. Management is tolerant and actually participates and actively looks for ways to make the place even better. I've sen the place grow and I'm proud to point people here and I do so all the time. Being the only football fan in my house really (my kids are too young), this is a great place for me to come and whine about stuff with other like-minded people - people who tolerate my occasional rants and my obsession with Zooey!

Halo (B&G.com Editor, Mark Clark) is a hero, IMO. He never tries to take the limelight, and is always looking for a way to make this site better.

I know of a situation where Halo tried to reach out to some on another fan website ("Brand X"), and was shunned, and they utterly rejected his olive branch. But the way he handled it showed me a lot, and he really earned my respect as a result (not that he didn't have it before).

Most of you have heard this, but I'm pasting the URL link below ...just in case you haven't: When the Saints went to SB XLIV, Australian radio interviewed him for a worldwide audience. Mark was humble, yet showed himself to be very articulate and knowledgeable in the process. Here it is, in case you missed it:

Hats off not only to the brains, but to all members. Being a fan from from the nether regions, good, solid, reliable information is hard to come by. I drop in every day, good info, especially during training camp, the members of this brotherhood provide some good stuff. I don't know what I would do without this site... From where I'm from, the Saints aren't actually a topic that comes up in peoples' discussions nor does football itself. So, without this place and all you fantastic people, I wouldn't have anyone to talk to about the Saints, about whom I so love to talk about.

I'm coming up to my 1-year birthday - or actually already surpassed it on the 3rd - as a member of this community, and I look forward to many more!

It goes without saying, of course, that this is indeed the best Saints site out there. Or should we not toot our own horn a bit more? Pertinent information is smartly organized for quick access. Our members have a certain savoir faire and unique knowledge base; and many have migrated from other sites who treated them sadly as anathemas. And there is a certain coolness here that is just unavailable anywhere else. I think this was the very first site to offer mobile access as well. We'll continue to improve the site. Suggestions are appreciated and welcomed.

After a few fleeting moments elsewhere I always return here. Only Saints site I frequent, lurk at, or even want around. Keep up the great work!

I love this site because it collects most all information about the Saints so I don't have to spend hours sifting through every other site out there. Tried some other forums but they were just too retarded for me.

Most days I am too busy to do much of anything online, but I always find time to visit B&G. If I have time for one site......this is always my choice. Thanks for keeping those of us who can't be in NOLA updated. I give it a 5 out of 5!

December 9th will be my 3 year anniversary here.

I was going to start by saying "for the most part" but that just makes it so...

This is the intelligent man's thinking Saints forum.

What I like:
New members are greeted when they come in the door, and not just replied to, but actually invited to join in on the discussion. Participation is encouraged and invited, anyone can blog, post news, etc...

There is actual discussion and debate here and alternative views are not brow beat, but rather accepted and considered. We know how great our team is yet we do not run around beating our hollow chests blindly avoiding reality.

I own my own boards, mostly gaming sites, and one blog where I basically log my verbose thoughts on what ever topic crosses my mind. I understand the work that goes into building a success like B&G, and Halo and his staff are dedicated to bringing you the best product available.

Halo and all of his staff, I will not name them by name because the managing of these boards is non-evasive, understand that a successful forum requires two parts. A platform and content, Halo provides the platform, and the active members provide the content... With out both being top quality this is just another url with code...

Moderators are not heavy handed, or dictatorial. Things get fixed and addressed behind the scenes.

There is no such thing as a perfect forum, a forum represents its active participants, and we all have different personalities and needs. This is just the perfect forum for me.

So... Thank you Halo for giving me a place to come to and learn and discuss our New Orleans Saints. Also, thank you to all of you active members... That accepted me here with open arms and continue to make each day that much more pleasurable, exciting, fun, and challenging for me.

I could write a blog on why this site is so great ... and from an 'outside' fan, no less (I used to be 'out', but now I'm 'in'), ;).

In a nutshell, it's a great board, it's a well-run & moderated board, it's a knowledgeable board and a great source of information, it's a respectable board, it's a friendly board, it's a diverse board, it's a local board, it's a cohesive board, it's a fun & entertaining board, it's an interesting board, it's a community board, it's what you join a fan message board for and keeps you coming back ... and last, but not least, members make the board and you have some of the best anywhere right here in the Black & Gold, :praise:.

I don't think; no wait, I know there isn't a better Saints site out there.

I have been apart of this site since 2004. I just stumbled upon it while looking for some info I can't remember what, but the rest is history.

That year, I did go to some of the other sites. The experience was not welcoming, as is here. Joe, Kevin, SPK, and Papz were the ones who made me feel at home. After that, I have never been back to those other sites. This site means a lot to me and others here. We have been through a lot in the 8 years I have been apart of this site. We lost Joe, gained some great new members and have seen the site grow into what it is today.

What I love the most about this site is that we can talk about everything under the sun. From Saints, to music, to joke of the day, to politics and even stupid pet tricks. We don't always agree on things but at the end of the day we are Saints fans. I think it's great that I can disagree with ScottF (not picking on you bro) about politics, but then "Like" his comments in another forum and vise versa. I don't know if the rest of y'all know how uncommonly strange that is this day in time. It is great, in my eyes, to know I can disagree with someone on something and then love the next post I read of theirs without ignoring that poster/member.

The next step I see for this site is to become the "Offical Fan Site of the New Orleans Saints". Interviews with players and coaches, that sort of thing. That is the only thing I see that could make the site any better. However, even if that doesn't happen, this site will still be great.

Thank you isn't a strong enough word, to express the gradatude I have for Mark and the rest of the MODS. Mark, you have done a great job brother.

That's because of the maturity level here... We all, well the greater majority of us understand that people are all wired differently... Its not personal.... We are all uniquely woven rugs that share one common thread, a love for our New Orleans Saints.

Our passion for the Black and Gold transcends race, religion, or politics.

Ok, since ya'll are taking this seriously, I feel badly for a nihilistic post.

I visit this site at least 3 times a day, and I look forward to the brutal insights and observations of the regulars. It is a space mercifully free of saccharine homerism, and the indigenous have respect for the fans of other teams (unless they are poorly mannered.)

I like that I can blog, post and chat at will, and that the only real censor is my conscience.
