Breaking down Drew Brees

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Some of you really liked the situational break down that I did for Hartley vs Kasay so I figured I would dig into our Super Elite Quarterback... Some of this tells an obvious story, some of this looks like nothing ...

Breaking down Drew Brees

Some of you really liked the situational break down that I did for Hartley vs Kasay so I figured I would dig into our Super Elite Quarterback... Some of this tells an obvious story, some of this looks like nothing on the surface but a lot can be taken away from it.

And yes, I will acknowledge that some stats are just crap... From some of what I see, i hope opposing Defensive coordinators do not read this. I also know some of you do not like the stats discussion... Maybe that's is because all that has been presented to you is junk stats... We will see..

All stats will be based off of a three year average for trend.
Interceptions: Total of 36 in three years
Game Quarter
1Q - 2
2Q - 16
3Q - 6
4Q - 12
OT - None
2 minutes left in the half - 10

Down
1st down - 15
2nd down - 8
3rd down - 10
4th down - 3

Score
When Ahead - 17
When Tied - 2
When Behind - 17

Field Zone
His WL/L/M/R/WR are flat (WR = wide right etc...)

Field Position
1D 6+ yards to go yards - 15 (nearly half) Also 13 of 49 sacks in this position

Season split:
1-8 =21
9-16= 15

Month
Sep - 4
Oct - 17
Nov - 5
Dec - 8

Division
AFC N - 7
ACF S - 4
NFC E - 1
NFC N - 0
NFC S - 15
NFC W - 9

By Team: Only listing two reason.. The rest are 3 or less
Atlanta - 6
Tampa Bay - 6
Cleveland - 4

There are a lot of junk stats E.G. Turf vs Grass and indoors vs outdoors, they seem to match the fact that 2/3 of our games are indoors and at night.
(now you know when to look for them )

Second Quarter, 2 minutes left in the half, 1st down and 9, against Tampa Bay in Week 7... I am going to be chewing a sofa cushion before those snaps.

Nothing else really stands out in regards to accuracy, or TD's

Sacks:
Team
Rams -7 Everyone else 4 or less

Games 1-8 = 32
Games 9-16 = 17

Rushing:
Games 1-8 = 25
Games 9-16 = 14

I don't really care that much about stats, they are informative but can be misleading. However, thanks for posting.

Re: Breaking down Drew Brees

LOL at the interceptions in October, that was when Bowen was right about to be born, and there was a stretch where Brees looked absolutely horrible for about 3-4 weeks! Pre-baby nerves and then no sleep, I guess, LOL.

Read the post.

Everything in that OP is based off of 3/three/trois years of data.

Unless Bowen was born in October every year for the last three years....

One game, one season... stats... Three years = trend

Lighten up, man... chill out....You do realize that 10 of those 17 October interceptions DID happen in 2010, right? I remember this and I even looked it up. His 2010 interceptions in that month were like double the other 2 Octobers. Plus he threw a bunch of crazy ones in the Atlanta game right at the end of September that same year, too. If Drew had put up normal interception numbers in October of 2010, like the other two Octobers, it would not be as high as 17 -- the total would be more like 12 or 13 -- that's all I'm sayin'. Not that hard to comprehend. Drew threw a spike of INTs in late September and October 2010, more than his normal, it's a fact and it shows in those numbers. No big deal.

Hopefully we add another @Saints member to the family today! Saying a prayer for @drewbrees & family as they await baby boy #3!
