New Orleans Saints DE Junior Galette vows to keep growing beard until Saints win Super Bowl

And no, it wasn't inspired by the beard of San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Brian Wilson, a former LSU standout.

"No," Galette said, "it's just a different look that I wanted to do. I had that clean, baby-face look all my life, so I was like hey I'm just going to let it grow."

The earliest Galette plans to take a razor to his furry face is sometime in February after Super Bowl XLVII at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Galette, who has emerged as one of the team's top pass-rushers, has vowed to keep the beard until the Saints win the Super Bowl.

"Win the Super Bowl, then I'll cut it off," said Galette, who signed as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2010, the season after the Saints won Super Bowl XLIV. "That's the plan. But until then, I'm going to keep it."

What if it takes three years for the Saints to win another Super Bowl?

He said on WWL 30 minutes ago that he's keeping the beard but plans to trim it weekly, he's not gonna keep letting it grow until we win a SB.

You know what he's on to something. Instead of growing my beard out, I'm going to let my toenails grow out until we win the Superbowl.

with some other teams, I would tell them eventually the guy will be tripping over his beard.
