Is there anything specific you’re looking for from your offense in this game?

“Starting with me, I have to and we have to do a better job on third down. It’s something that we’ve been historically good at the last couple years. That’s something I think we have to be better on; third down, finish drives and feel like we have some consistency going.”

As we’re getting closer to beginning the season without Sean Payton and Joe Vitt, how comfortable are you with your role as being in charge of the offense going forward?

“I think we have a great coaching staff and a great group of players that have been in this system over the last couple of years. Like we’ve been saying, we’re obviously going to miss Sean (Payton). We’re going to miss him significantly, but we feel comfortable where we’re at and how we’re going to proceed.”

Do you feel like it’s going to be even more different with Joe Vitt out?

“Yes, I think Joe brings something to the table as well as the leader of this team. We’re going to miss his presence too, but we’ll find a way to get through it.”

Didn't we lead the entire league in 3rd down conversions last year?

EDIT: Yes, we had the most AND we had the highest conversion percentage.

We were 29th on 4th down conversions though. 3 of 10

eh, too small of a sample size for those 4th down stats to mean anything.

Just throw them in with the third down stats and call it 55%.

Which is an awesome percentage!

I hope they can keep it close to that level again this season.
