this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I thought it was a good 1st half. The Texans are a good team that just doesn't seem to have things going thier way. IMO before they lost thier QB I thought they had a very good chance at going ...

Re: A positive way to look at our defensive performance.
Every time the camera got on Wade Phillips he had little emotions showing. He held back last night on our O. Our O looked fairly crisp but nowhere near what they are capable, Graham is a monster and Ivory looked like he should with the exception of the fumble I thought at first he got a broken neck. Our D still needs much improvement, Jordan looked real good and McBride impressed. Seems the front 4 needs to get more push but showed alot of hustle on every play, in the secondary our middle seemed open at will for big gains. All in all it was a C grade and still a long way to go on D, I did see better tackling and thats a good start but way 2 many points given up.

Re: A positive way to look at our defensive performance.
Our starting MLB was Jonathan Casillas.
The fact we didn't give up 60 points is a positive. Robinson had about 5 near-picks. Most of Houston's big plays were blown assignments, which at this stage is both understandable and correctable. |

Re: A positive way to look at our defensive performance.
I think the biggest thing was how good our second string looked. With Remi, Akiem Hicks and Barrett Ruud in, our second string D looked better than some teams starters *cough*Browns*cough*Jaguars
