#Saints release K John Kasay, source confirms. That means Garrett Hartley wins the kicker job

I only saw Kasey kick like a couple times.
Guess this was written in stone. Hartley did perform.

Good job Hartley! I have a hard time being happy thou since it means Kasay loses his job.

I think most of us saw this coming. Hartley was a lock to make the team unless he completely flopped on his chances to kick. He didn't, he's young, strong (enough) leg, and he's now our future.

Hope he worked on his short game.......

Kasay knew this also I think. We brought him in because Hartley got injured to start with. Let's see if someone picks him up.

Gotta give Kasey props tho he was reliable. Hope he lands on his feet if he decides not to retire.

Payton has faith in Hartley. That is good enough for me. I hope Kasay gets another gig if he wants it. If not, I hope he is happy watching the Saints games from home.

If he's not picked up by another team, I hope the Saints hire him as a "consultant".

Kasey could end up back in Carolina. Aren't they having kicking issues?

My money was on Hartley which surely meant Kasay would get the nod. I'm steppin' out for a couple of lottery tickets!

Keep in mind, keeping Kasay on the final 53 means his entire salary is guaranteed for the year. If we cut him and resign after week 1, he goes week to week with no guarantees.

I have a feeling he's on our speed-dial.

Kasay is 42....wasnt really a surprise we kept Hartley....even though I cringed far less last season when Kasay kicked field goals, you have to go with the younger guy

For some reason I just feel like they go together.

Good because I got Hartley on my fantasy team.
