Do you think we were out coached?

It didn't seem like I saw any adjustments after the half. I was at the dome so It was hard to see the plays develop plus I was a little intoxicated and had taken some xanax, but I was wondering. If this is the case and continues to be a problem to we consider bringing in an outside source like Parcells or Gruden? Probably a dumb question this late in the game. All I know the fact Atlanta dominated makes me feel even worse.

Yes. Next question...

Re: Do you think we were out coached?

They definitely executed their gameplan better. Yesterday we were outcoached and outplayed. I would like to see Kromer get more vocal, seemed like he was pretty low key during all of those mistakes. Think we are past the point of any outside coach. It was an embarrassing loss for the players and coaches knowing all eyes were going to be on us after our off-season. Now we get to see what this team and coaching staff are made of.

Re: Do you think we were out coached?

Kromer was outcoached on the side line. He didn't talk to the team after mistakes. I think Payton would have taken a different approach and chewed their arses off. Kromer has been good with the line and inserted numerous players in the past couple of years. However, he didn't show it today.

Re: Do you think we were out coached?

Yes.

Since most of the damage done to us was through roll outs and play action passes, we should have started bringing pressure from the outside. Harper's pass rushing prowess would have been quite helpful yesterday.

Hopefully after we get back into the film room, we make the necessary adjustments. We've got a mobile one next week.

I know it's blasphemy to say this but GW would have had a better defensive scheme. Mind you I say this but am still one of the biggest supporters of spags. Running QBs are always hard to account for and RG3 played a perfect game.

Time to move on.

I found myself thinking the same thing, overwhelming blitz may have slowed down RG3 because he may not have been able to get comfortable, or it could have looked even uglier with RG3 picking us apart more...if that was possible

Yeah, not sure if RG3 could have looked better. Just have to call this one a learning experience or trap-game and move on.

By week 4 we will know what type of team we have.

This is the more probable senario, every time we got pressure he burned us. He was on his back foot and then on his ass when he burnt us for the 88 yard TD. He had our number.

Re: Do you think we were out coached?

Yes, of course we were. Who is this DC Jim Haslett guy?

And to be fair, Mike Shanahan is just a little more experienced than Kromer at HC. You might have noticed if you watched closely. :)

Re: Do you think we were out coached?

Kromer wasn't outcoached. He just didn't start to coach.

As for the rest. I really don;t think Washington's lot out smarted with coaching. If I can be frank - we buggered up big time. We made some serious on-field errors, each of which I think would have converted our loss to a win.
Go on pick'em. Colston fumble on their 3 yard line - FG or TD begging. 12 man penalty gave Washington the ball back - they went on to score. The reckless give away INT with loads of time on the clock.
Then again, if and it could be the case, that Brees is QB AND also unofficial offensive coach then Brees was outcoached. Because we buggered up on our choice of offensive plays and thuse use of offensive personnel.

Re: Do you think we were out coached?

Kromer has never been head coach until last Sunday. He was acclimated by fire and I think he got the best on-the-job training anyone could ask for.

Spags didn't have a good gameplan. I didn't see any of the Redskins preseason games so I don't know if RGIII has been playing this scheme all preseason or not.

So answer is yes. We also got out-played. Had we limited the dropped balls and miss queue's on offense, we would be having an entirely different conversation. We're used to our defense letting us down and the offense bailing us out. The offense just wasn't sharp yesterday.

Re: Do you think we were out coached?

No. We scored 32 points and gave up 40. We were outplayed. You can blame coaching if they were not prepared, but our O-Line got owned, WR's dropped passes, Drew was off and I won't even list everything about the defense. Having said that we still scored 32 points and had 2 chances to tie up the game. Defense needs to step it up.

Re: Do you think we were out coached?

Don't know why but the Redskins have always given the Saints fits. Haslett has too. Remember the "Trap" game against the Rams? The 5 - 0 start that came crashing down around Mora? Courtesy of DC Jim Haslett. I quit watching after it was 10 - 7. They looked like zombies

I knew this actually before the game, I was telling Skin fans I think Id rather have Williams blitz approach than Spags Zone coverage because of RGIII capabilities of running alot.

I wasnt wrong either, thats where he beat us.

But at the same time, RGIII would have abused Williams blitz approach with the pass...

since he has been the DC of the 'Skins we have always had problems with them...

Something about that 3-4 defense and the zone blocking offense...

Re: Do you think we were out coached?

Adjustments---ZERO
Skins bring pressure, but we dont run slants or draws. Oh, or any runs at all.
Skins run the exact same play 5 times on first drive, still playing 10 yards of the ball.

And the Captain Obvious award goes to this thread!

Yes, we were blatantly obviously out coached.

yeah after about the 3 penalty you think a coach would be chewing ass out on everyone on the Offense.

Hind sight 20/20.

The game plan started out with exactly what RGIII did best in college. However their game plan wasn't consistent enough to adjust for.

Had our receivers caught their passes we wouldn't be having this discussion.
