I worked in Roanoke for a bit after I graduated from Virginia Tech. I missed SWVA quite a bit until I moved to Milwaukee. Love it here except for all the Packers fans.

Enjoy the trip to Charlotte, Geaux Saints! (and Go Hokies, too!)

ditto for radio. dont go to "broadcast school," or major in "broadcasting," unless you want to end up working at Starbucks. Radio is dying. And if you do want on the air, just intern instead, be a go-fer & work your way up. The worst guys I ever heard all went to school for it.

My first gig was a board op midnight to 6am on the weekends. Then Riding the board for all the church and countdown shows on Sunday. After a few months of that I got a 'talking' shift overnight weekdays. Met some interesting people. Partied a lot.

Funny thing - all I ever wanted to do was be a rock-n-roll roadie but was always afraid to just run away and 'join the circus'...like radio was any different?

What the hell is this thread about?

Oh yeah, we better win...
