The Saints’ offense is missing Robert Meachum

Its only been one game!!

The New Orleans Saints had one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL led by Drew Brees over the last six seasons and the Saints lost key players over the course of those seasons like Reggie Bush and found replacements for Bush with Darren Sproles for example, but the loss of Robert Meachum this past offseason, showed against the Redskins and possibly will lead the Saints out of sync in the future as well.

Robert Meachum was possibly one of the major pieces to the Saints offense being as good as they were for the last couple seasons, because Meachum as the third wide receiver spot was a mismatch on almost every play.

Meachum is a wide receiver that can be a number 2 or 1 on another team and that is also why he signed with the San Diego Chargers this season.

Meachum brought to the Saints, that wide receiver, who would get open when everyone else was covered down the field and now that he is lost, the Saints are not finding viable replacements for his play.

The Saints have Lance Moore trying to fill that void, but his stats on Sunday, don’t matchup with the reality the Saints face.

The Saints? offense is missing Robert Meachum

Drops are the problem, not Meachem's absence, and I'm a big Meachem fan.

Agree you cant move the ball with drops. But we still are in need of some speed. That seems to be gone

Meachump. That's what I thought of him in his first couple of years. I miss him now though.

What do they mean Lance Moore's stats don't matchup? 6 catches 120 yds and a TD. Must be Falcon math or something. Stop dropping passes and we'll be fine.

Exactly. You cannot tell in one game how much we miss anyone. Especially with coaching changes. Drops were the main reason we lost that game. Next to penalties.

And Reggie Bush. That Sproles character just doesn't run east and west enough.

When Marques Colston drops multiple passes and fumbles the winning reception you know you're in trouble. There's no denying that we're a better team with Meachem than without him but I don't think it's making that much of a difference. If Morgan can hang on to the ball a little better we'll hardly notice that Meech is gone. I really like the receiver Meachem has become and wish we still had him but we'll be just fine with who we have. (Camarillo looks like solid pro. Glad we re-signed him.)

I wouldn't say we are a better team with Meachem.

When you drop the ball as much as WR did you can't win the game. Plus you have to play the whole game not just the 4th quarter.

Yep, the Meachum loss is pretty devastating, but all is not lost. Eventually, Morgan will find his stride, learn how to catch passes, and help the Saints get back to being prolific on offense. Just takes a little time, I mean seriously, Meachum was a walking cluster screw for like his first two years, and he was a number 1 draft pick. Morgan will eventually fill in his shoes and will be better in the long run.

Was he really that good anyway?

Cause it's not like he's CHANGING THE WORLD for the chargers right now.
For God sakes the guy got hurt before the season even started.

He's not exactly Tracy Porter and the Broncos when it comes to impact.

I don't see how we are "missing" Meachem. Meachem wouldn't have helped Graham, Morgan, or Colston hang onto the ball... A decent run game will get the receivers uncovered as well...

Did your girlfriend just cheat on you with one of your homies or something? Im guessing you are kind of young, take it easy don't pop a blood vessel, don't know why you are so indigent and high strung.

We're not missing Meachum, we're missing Colston but he'll be back this week!

I don't understand why you have a bone to pick with me. Cause there's a few in here that acted just like I did. And know, I'm not young.

I say words in caps to put emphasis on them, not because I'm angry.

I'd use better ways but I have a nerve disorder in my hands so it's much easier to just type in caps and go.
