Yeah, I've gone from cautiously optimistic to skeptical of our defense to disappointed. I think they could still pick it up eventually, but our secondary is slow and in terrible position on most plays. Our line is actually a lot better, and the linebackers are better, but the entire back field is just swiss cheese.

EDIT: Also we have no pass rush whatsoever.

Not only is our defense not improved. It's actually worse - as if that's actually possible, but it appears as though it's actually possible.

This will be a long season of discontent ... We can not play defense like we have the past couple of years make a change of coach / systems and not really add more talent then we have and expect anything different. So many breakdowns on the D's part today ... Asking here do you think its coaching or players or both ... We have look like our secondary has no clue where they should be ... I can't see much improvement happening on the talent side and if our guys do not get coached and schemed up better ... LONG LONG season.
