Payton Might be the Difference?

I don't know what to think at this point. Here we are (0-2), and KC is coming up, and if we can win that one, then we go to GB. If we're back on track by then, and we're far away from it, it's apt to be a shoot-out that can go either way.

The rest of the schedule doesn't look like a piece of cake either.

I'm a little worried about Drew, whether he twisted his hundred million dollar leg today. Isn't the O-Line coach now the head coach? If so, they need to get someone else back onto the O-Line.

I remember people whining about the defense and Williams last year. Happy now? My only hope is that I have heard Spag's Defenses usually take a couple of games to get set. I heard the first two games with the Giants' allowed high scoring. Played a wee bit better in the second half.

And sadly, Drew isn't quite up to snuff this year. I guess all that negotiating instead of showing up and playing at camp took its toll.

Anyway, on to KC, not giving up yet, just a hitch in our get along.

Not sure what you are trying to say here, but yea I think its a given that not having Payton is more than huge. In fact their is not a word to describe how huge it is. Basically we just have a bunch of position coaches on their own out there. Nothing is wrong with Drew, its his line and nothing else.

Only Grubbs is new to the line. I don't get why they're getting blown up so badly.

I'd add the fact that we're relying on Morgan and Roby in the passing game. That has an affect as well.

I'm completely awe-struck by the defense however. They look like an 11 man dizzy bat race.

Yeah Payton is missed. I mean the bone head penalties we suffered last week a sure sign of lack of discipline that only a leader can instill.

So over whats his name at HC. People thought he'd make a great HC one day... well they are full of BS.

That's why he isn't a head coach yet

Cheer up guys. He's no Sean Payton, but Joe Vitt is coming back in a few games, with 30+ years of NFL coaching experience and defensive expertise, and if things aren't markedly better by then, on his first day back on the job as interim coach he is going to get up at the podium and deliver a GINORMOUS EPIC UNPRINTABLE BUTT REAMING on the entire team, chew them a new one, put the fear in them. Then he will get in there burning the midnight oil late at night with the X's and O's and look at film and tweak things with Spags on the defense, two minds instead of one, while Kromer goes back to concentrating his talents on coaching the O-line, where he belongs.

Joe Vitt is a coach that all these guys are afraid of, and most of the other assistant coaches are afraid of him, too. It may not wind up being 13-3, but it WILL get better when Coach Vitt gets back. He's not Payton, but he is still the real deal as far as coaches go.

Seattle gave the league the blueprint to handling the Saints...

Attack the offensive tackles, and have the interior line standup and knock down the passing lanes as Drew is barely 6'...

Attack Roman Harper and Malcolm Jenkins, neither can hit, tackle, cover, or read a defense; they can't come over the top and provide help to corners or linebackers in coverage; they have no instincts and no passion for hitting...

Offensive lineman should chip our defensive linemen and blow up linebackers in the secondary as the key to successful run blocking...

Oh, Aaron Kromer shouldn't be retained after the season as he looks like he chatte his pants, again, this week...

I think the line thing will work itself out. I think a lot of it may be that Kromer is spread thin with his time being head coach and line coach. I think we will see the line tighten up by the time Vitt gets back, only that may be too late.

Wish we could jerk Kromer back to line coach and bring in Parcells. Hell nothing can hurt at this point.

Yeah Coach Payton is missed. It's still only the second game of the season. Moving on.
