What other NFL franchise do you have the most "RESPECT" for? Which one do you have the least respect for?

Most respect= Denver Broncos

Tracy Porter is doing great on their team.
John Elway was the reason why the Falcons have zero rings.
I respect Peyton Manning and felt bad for him after he left the colts.
Elway knows the difference between a QB that can win games(Manning) and a QB that's just for show(Tebow).
The Broncos are about to destroy the Falcons tonight.
The fans are nice.

I'd also add the pack.

Least respect= Philadelphia Eagles

Michael Vick killed dogs and the fans praise him.
The Fans are jerks ALL the time.
The players get in fights with EVERY TEAM all the time.
They're worse than the Raiders cause at least the Raiders LIKE their team. I'm not even sure if Eagles fans actually like the Eagles.
Everybody thinks they'll do well and then they crash and burn.

Most respect = Pats
We'll take the hate and whatever players we have and still take you to school.
Least = Cowboys
Nuff said.

TheOak 09-17-2012 08:06 PM

Porter is doing squat. Just got burnt by J. Jones.

Re: What other NFL franchise do you have the most "RESPECT" for? Which one do you have the least respect for?

Respect goes to Pats!!

Least amount...Falcons/Cowboys

SaintsBro 09-17-2012 08:37 PM

Re: What other NFL franchise do you have the most "RESPECT" for? Which one do you have the least respect for?

Most respect: Pats
Second most respect: Green Bay, for having the tradition and the Lombardi history thing there, and then re-inventing themselves with the modern Favre/Rodgers team that is current and modern but still kinda cool like the old Packers were

Least respect:Falcons and their fans

Best visiting fans ever encountered in my section in the Dome:Cleveland Browns fans -- I hate to admit it but they had us laughing along with them while they reamed us that time, they were in just as much shock as we were, what a crazy game.

Most respect - Packers

Least respect - Falcons. Everything about them, their organization and their fans reeks.

Pats and Pittsburgh, they always stay relevant

Cowboys, Falcons. Need I say more?

Re: What other NFL franchise do you have the most "RESPECT" for? Which one do you have the least respect for?

Most respect-----Steelers. Tomlin is top shelf. Preaches individual responsibility and accountability (probably wouldn't be more than a small handful of our defensive players on his roster, not to mention these recent efforts would go over like a fart in church), ownership and fan following is top notch
Least respect----Falcons/Seahawks (no one spills beer on my Mills Jersey and gets away with it.

Least-Everyone else especially Atlanta

Re: What other NFL franchise do you have the most "RESPECT" for? Which one do you have the least respect for?

Most respect Patriots and Packers. Its hard not to like what Belichick has done with the Patriots and just enjoy watching Tom Brady play football.

Least respect. F*ck da Eagles! I allready disliked them when they had Donovan McCrack at QB and they went and got the only one I hate more. The Panthers, just because Scam Newton and Steve Smith.

Hate to say it but a lot of corners are going to get beat by JJ. And better ones than Porter.

They gave up alot to get Jones but it looks well worth it.

Least = Eagles/FortyNiners/Jets & Tony Romo ... it's a tossup.

Most = Pats/Giants/Steelers,(*edit) & Packers ... always a class act and in the playoffs.

Re: What other NFL franchise do you have the most "RESPECT" for? Which one do you have the least respect for?

Packers. (and Im surprised to see others agreeing with this.)
I stole much of this knowledge from an SI article, called, Why Everyone Should Root for the Packers. But its true stuff, and I support it.

1. The team truly belongs to the community. They're owned by some American Legion Hall, and fans have shares in the team. So the team can never MOVE. The Plague of Moving, started by Al Davis, almost destroyed
the NFL for me. I still root against moving teams.

2. Even more "team belongs to the community:" Smallest NFL City. Just like
us, they're supposed to be too small, too poor, etc. What you have is a
totally invested fan base, just like us. And just like us, they come from
all over the state, and neighboring states, not just their metro area.
They're the only team who has fans who can touch us in the Krazy
Department. Just like us, the little guys, we buy more of our
teams stuff than the people in big cities.

3. Their fans. I dont hear them crying about "amenities." I see them
sitting in the cold on benches and celebrating about it. I like their
cheeseheads too. Come on, thats funny stuff.

4. They have this tradition, where kids loan their bicycles to players after
each practice during Training Camp. And the kid carries the players
helmet & shoulder pads. Can we please have something like this in
our town? Except we could let grown men carry stuff for Saints
Players, and get on the field, starting with me.

5. Lambeau. This should be #1, actually. Lambeau is Lambeau because it
doesnt clutter up your football experience with amenities & other crap. I dont think they even have a big screen. You dont see a swimming pool, or
a special yuppified cabana bar, or whatever. This is why Packer Fans still
have attention spans. Why cant they understand that I, the Real Fan, who
makes the stadium what it is, give a crap less about luxury accomodations. Im 100% more interested in looking at any ground where Ray Nitchzke used to
play. Football sells football. So does history.

6. Tradition. The Packers still wear the same uniforms they wore in the 60s. And they didnt "black out." They look very American, I think. The Packers still look like football, and not Cirque du Soleil. ...or an arena league team.

7. Bart Starr, Lynn Dickey, Don Majkowski (spelling???), Brett Favre, (yes, I like Brett Favre.) Aaron Rogers.

Least Respected: Raiders. Al Davis did more to destroy fans loyalty than any owner, even Art Modell. He started the "moving" epidemic. He invented the PSL--- greatest sports scam ever. Their fans celebrate their own grotesqueness, probably, because after paying the PSL, they cant afford normal clothes. Malt Liquor & Thunderbird, the only thing they can afford, causes unreasonable behavior. Davis was next to Jerry Jones in the meddling department.

... excellent read! Didn't want to give an NFC North opponent that has dominated my Lions for so many years any props ... thanks for the 'internet skin-bracer slap' and bringing me back, man. ... now that I think about it, my earliest recollections of the NFL are the Green Bay/Detroit game and a lot of my early NFL opinion was heavily influenced by Vince Lombardi & the Pack ... heck, Chester Marcol was once my favorite placekicker,.

You saw last night why we let Tracy Porter walk. The ONLY reason people are lamenting his loss is because we have injuries.

Re: What other NFL franchise do you have the most "RESPECT" for? Which one do you have the least respect for?

Most respect- Giants...because they gave a lot to get Eli and I am admittedly a big Manning homer...especially the Mannings that went to Ole Miss. They have a very respectable HC, GM, and ownership as well. It is not hard to respect that organization.

Least respect- San Diego...I have never liked the way they do things and Philip Rivers may be talented but he comes off like a jerk to me.

I haven't given this a lot of thought so I reserve the right to change the "least" if I think of some team I respect (with that being the key word) less. If you had said "hated", then I might have a different answer.

saintsfan1976 09-18-2012 08:32 AM

Re: What other NFL franchise do you have the most "RESPECT" for? Which one do you have the least respect for?

Most - Steelers for tradition and ownership.
Pats for Bellicheck helping Sean Payton be who he is today.

Least - Bears. We have the same number of Superbowls. Why do you think you're so great?
Falcons and Panthers. Your team, your fans and the fact that I'll have to listen to you cry about "cheating" for decades...

Actually thank Parcells for making BOTH Payton & Bellicheck who they are today.

Most Respect- Pats, Packers (even though Rodgers comes off as a douche to me but he's a great QB LOL), & Steelers...

Least Respect- Falcons, Panthers, Vikings....I've never seen 3 teams hate on us so much in my life. Everything they do is to keep up with us...Panthers winning that game last sunday was their Superbowl. Falcons wish they were us. We live in their heads...they did a "Rickey Williams trade" just to keep up with our O. LOL. Vikings are just losers. Would rather berate us over "cheating" and see EVERYONE ELSE beat us because they know they'll never get as close as they did that night in 2009. Would rather see us fail than to actually focus on being good themselves.......typical loser mentality.

Least - Hard to pick, the challenge is to differentiate between no respect and dislike.

Re: What other NFL franchise do you have the most "RESPECT" for? Which one do you have the least respect for?

Don't want my neighbor to hear me say this but yeah I have to agree with some of you and say the pack as one I respect. Ones I don't as a fan would have to be all the teams that left their fan base. Chiefs, Colts, Ravens, Rams, Raiders and Philly. Any team whose fans throw snowballs at Santa Claus just gets no respect in my book. Forgot about the Oilers/Titans.

Yeah. But when you turn the ball over like 5 times, it puts a lot of pressure on defense.

Plus it's cool when any former saint does well.

If shanle did well in another city, I would be happy for him(even if he sucks).

lee909 09-18-2012 11:42 AM

The Packers/Steelers and Patriots.
The level of success is fantastic.

I have a soft spot for the Ravens, not that popular among most but I love the defence of 2000.I like the gritty nasty side of the game and they did it best.

lol that's funny.

Cause out of all the elite QB, Rodgers is the one of the few that DOESN'T annoy me or come off as a douche. Along with Brees and Eli Manning.

You just gotta pay attention.....its not blatant. Its subtle inflections of douche-ness in his voice in some interviews....his jokes with media have certain underlying douche qualities. Like the "this joke is douchey but it'll fly right over you guys' heads and you'll laugh hystarically anyway because " Its barely noticable sometimes....but when your occupation requires you to work with some of the most douche-iest people in the world....you pick up on subtle douche qualities that nobody else notices.

Not saying he's a bad guy...I like him....just saying he can be subtly douchey sometimes but not enough to make him say.......a Roddy White, or a Steve Smith...its just the riiiiiiight amount so that no one can definativly say "Yeah...that guy is a complete douche bag".

He's got it down to a science......much like Brees does (Don't front! He's the MASTER at it!). But thats why I respect him cuz he's savy enough to know when to release his douche qualities and when to stay humble. Not a lot of athletes can straddle the fence of Douchebaggery so easily. LOL

I'm slightly confused as to how Brees is like that. Brees seems more "aw shucks". Except he actually means it.

I think what you mean is Brees isn't naive. If he was naive, then he'd be Tebow.

I dunno, Goofy... I see it a bit in Brees... I wouldn't call it outright douchery, but Brees definitely messes with people sometimes, when he's talking. I've seen him go over people's heads in interviews, with a sense of humor they can't even detect. And I've seen him say really bad corny football cliche answers to questions, while looking right in the camera with a face that says, "Yes, I am saying a ridiculous stock football cliche to you right now, and I know it."

Least respect: Ravens, Colts, Browns.
Pulling up stakes in the middle of the night leaving fans high and dry. Ravens - stealing a formerly storied franchise - and feeling they had the right because theirs was stolen from them.

Most respect: Saints, Falcons - brought pro football into the deep south before their colleges had even desegregated their football teams.

Saints sold out games while being (arguably) the worst team in all of pro sports - (greatest fans of all time!)

Packers - only publicly owned team in all of sports (I could be wrong about "only") and have the rings to back it up.

Oh, was this about the current season and athletics?
