I am feeling better about our defense and season
 

In Week 4 of the preseason, the Saints played the Texans in the Superdome and starters for both teams played the first half.

The Texans are picked by many to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl and the Saints won. The defense held the Texans to under 100 yds rushing and Matt Schaub to under 200 yds passing.

I know it was a pre-season game, but it shows what the defense CAN DO!!

Egh preseason blah... and Joe Morgan was a stand out too n preseason and look at him now... but I do think our D just needs some time to get into the run of things... hopefully by Vitts return r D will be able to help us out...

If the defense shows no improvement by then, the Saints might as well wait on the return of Jesus Christ!!

A true optimist! You can't beat that thinking.
There were two defensive Field Generals playing for the Saints, Jonathan Vilma and Darren Sharper. These two were crucial in defensive audible adjustments and player motivation. So Sharper has been gone a while and the way it looks Vilma won't be out there any time soon. Now add a new defensive coordinator and subtract one talented head coach.
I don't know but i am with you buddy, however there is a lot to overcome this season.

The saints defense looked good vs a vanilla preseason Texans offense.

The way I see the defense is no where to go but up! Just got to get the nuances of the new scheme down pat.

I'm hoping that they look somewhat better against this weeks conventional offense.

Obviously the writers at NFL.com don't agree with you.
