Chiefs Game

I am just hoping we win. Really. I am not even anticipating a win. I don't even expect us to come out pissed and light the place up anymore. I just want to win. I swear I don't care if it is by a point, just win. I feel like we should win this game going away, but I am not confident we will. I can see us losing. I hope that we turn the corner starting this week. I hope that their offense is just what the doctor ordered for our D, but shoot I have no idea what to expect. Maybe that's a good thing?

C'mon man... The Redskins and Panthers are not exactly the Chiefs. Our two losses came against teams that have QB's who are so unconventional and total dual-threats. If we can't put Matt freakin' Cassell on his back then I'll panic. We'll be fine... they suck.

I'd be with you if that was our only issue. Our offense had issues moving the ball and that is because Drew isn't getting any time. To me, both our lines are getting beat. Despite all the fancy talk this game is still won upfront, and until we start winning there I don't care if we are playing the Detroit Lions during the 0-16 season, lol.

Seriously, I hope we win, we should win, but I really don't know what to expect.

Yeah I hear ya dude, always used to be able to tell if our offense was in tune during pregame because the cameras would look at drew - drew would look tuned in, then they looked at Payton and he looked cocky and confident and I'd think man, our offense is gonna be insane tonight

We need this game badly

Given the 3 and outs for Wash but I hardly see how we had trouble moving the ball. We had trouble scoring.

We put up 358 yards against Washington, and 486 against Carolina. That's an ave of 422 YPG. Only Two teams avr more than 400 YPG last year... Saints/Pats/Packers

No one ever said the 49ers had trouble moving the ball last year and they averaged 310 yards per game.

Take Colstons touch back fumble out of the game and we win. By the slimmest of margins.. but win.

I have always felt that the Colton fumble was negated by the blocked punt. I can almost bet that most of those yards were gained when the games were getting away from us. We had some trouble moving against the panties. I was there. We started out good, but after that we had trouble. Then toward the end we started moving it again, it was an improvement over Washington, but we still didn't look as fluid as we should. Plus I will say we had some drops too. I hope you're right man. Really do. I said that about the 49ers. Matter of fact I said outright that the game came down to protecting the ball because the only reason they were winning was short fields. Not that I am some genius because everyone knew we had to protect the ball in that game. It was how they had built their wins that season

This was going to be my exact post on Monday, but I held off. The more the week passes the less optimistic I am about this game. With even a mediocre defense we would be 2-0. And with Atl exploiting their weak schedule and bad officiating in their favor wins become a premium. We do not need to rely solely on offense for wins. The D needs to step it up. A loss this week and I will start the Jarvis Jones thread. Watch me, I'll do it.

Offensively we'll be fine, defensively that's the big question. I'm going to make a bold prediction Ellis gets his fat ass benched and the defense shows up and plays great

and if there was ever a quarterback who could give us our first INT of the year, it's Cassel.

Who else does he have to throw to besides Bowe downfield? I don't think Breaston is even on the field much anymore but I haven't seen the games

The way I look at it is that Colstons fumble was a gift to the Skins... The blocked punt, was earned...

Gifts do negate gifts, but not earned plays... just the way I look at it.

I agree with you on that if the fumble had happened with more time on the clock. Being that the fumble and the block punt both happen with less than 2 minutes in the half makes it a wash. Saints were not going to score twice before the half anyway. Colston doesn't fumble and we score on the next play and kickoff, skins take a knee and it's halftime. Don't believe we onside kick in that situation. It's over so it doesn't matter anyway but my point is you can't blame Colston's fumble on that lost because points were scored. Now if we didn't block the punt and it was 20-7 at halftime then it would have been a different story.

Jon Baldwin is a better receiver than Breaston, offensive coordinator said he wanted to get Baldwin more involved in the game
