What do you guys think about bringing Parcells in as an advisory/motivational role?

Not as a coach. just someone who can help light a fire under some asses and bring about a sense of urgency which I feel we are lacking. He could also coach up our 3rd string coaches. Even Gruden would work. I know it was mentioned in the offseason but he was mentioned as an interim coach not in the role I am talking about.

He might do it if it wouldn't interfere with his HOF eligibility.

Chuckie might do it; I would be more interested in asking if Jim Mora Sr. would consider doing something like that.

We all know it will never happen so why even worry about it?

If Loomis & the org thought that would have been beneficial they would have made arrangements prior to the coaches suspensions. I believe they thought that everything was under control with Kromer & Vitt. So far, it is apparent that all is not well.

Problem is Loomis isn't here to make these decisions. I guarantee you he would have done something by now if only it was personnel changes.

I hate to burst your bubble, but even if Loomis were here we wouldn't bring anyone from outside in.

That would have been in the offseason and I thought the Saints and Parcells made it clear it wasn't happening

I sure as hell wish they would. These guys need a little guidance and someone to help spell them from being spread out so thin. Until Vitt gets back at least. I think when the time comes we will be fine. I also think part of the problem with this interim interim thing is the hierarchy in the ranks. I think its a lot harder for Kromer to try and hold some of these position coaches accountable because in after 4 more games he will be their peer again. Thats gotta be a little tough. Having Vitt back will solve that problem. Maybe I should have refraised my thread title to "Do you guys think bring someone in as motivator/advisor like Parcells for the time being" Thats what I meant. Hell I would be happy if he came in and just talked to the team. It couldn't hurt.

Something needs to be done to right the ship. I was all for Parcells or Gruden damn anyone would have done. I was afraid of this and stated so over and over again. I never liked the play with what we got mentality and this bullcrap with Kromer. Goodell knew what he was doing here without leadership you have little chance in the NFL. I am not jumping ship because I love my team but you have to face the truth.

Too late for Parcells now. Doing this would just be a sign of panic and that's the last thing we need.

The real-world problem with Tuna or Chuckie is $$$, which is why I think it's not happening and didn't happen already. I am sure there is a hypothetical number amount in his mind, for which Parcells (or Chuckie) would decide to come back to head coaching and do it, but that number is probably not realistic or not worth doing for just an interim.

Re: What do you guys think about bringing Parcells in as an advisory/motivational role?

No. He couldn't motivate a defense in Dallas that, for what it's worth, had a better line up that what we are working with. He accomplished a SB with a great Giants team. He hasn't put a great product on the field since. Focus needs to be put on D and O line play. Kromer should be working his ass off trying to figure out why his line can't protect Drew.

In the case of a motivational roll.. It requires authority, the authority a coach has.

Paying them to give pregame speeches is a waste of $, and if they are not on the field in the players faces and ears, it doesn't make it past the first series.

You mean bring somebody in as a kind of Consultant/Advisor? That seems like a good idea to me, even though the season is already more than two weeks old.

The problem would be finding somebody who is willing and able to be a successful Advisor. I doubt that a Gruden or a Parcells would be willing to take such a position, because, they don't need the money, and, Why take the risk of being a part of a situation that could turn into a very unsuccessful season?

I think it Parcells truley wanted to be here and help out he would of been here since day one. Sean Payton asked... but tbh I don't think the Tuna really had any intentions of leaving retirement.

He just didn't know how to publicly say "hell no"
