Denver / Atlanta game

How many people watched it? I took a little bit away from it.

Atlanta's defense did look great, lots of turnovers...

However.
4 turnovers and only 13 points generated off of them.
4 turnovers and Denver stayed in the game.

With Denver turning the ball over 4 times there is no way they should have been able to stay in the game.

The clown's secondary did have Manning figured although I think that was as much due to the receivers still not knowing quite what they're supposed to do as it was Payton. Their defensive scheme was a good one. Ryan did light it up in the middle of the field, but the offense would stall out as they'd head to the end zone. Turner had his moments, but then he'd have to stop to pick up that fifth that kept falling out of his pocket. To me the real story was the rent-a-refs. They totally lost control of the game and blew more calls than a two dollar Bourbon Street hooker. I think the first quarter alone went on for over an hour. It was pitiful. I finally just turned it off. I love watching football, but this year with these wrecks out on the field....

I saw the turnovers, yes Atlanta looked good vs a team trying to learn a new complex offense. I don't think Denvers offensive is where "Peyton" wants them to be. They're simply not used of being in a no huddle nor being efficient and Atlanta took advantage of it.
I hope the media isn't crownig Atlanta just yet....
It's bad enough they said before the game Matt Ryan is elite!

Denvers offense has more issues than learning Payton's style... Payton may need to rethink his style from what I have seen... He is floating passes, and throwing Ducks... Given he has never been known for arm strength, and has been known for accuracy... but slow moving ducks are easy pickings for a defense.

I have a buddy on FB that is a huge Denver fan.. I said that Mannings arm is not there anymore ... he said that was stupid... the third duck thrown I asked, then what do you call that? he never replied.

It was just typical Atlanta Falcons football, they came out jawing and jabbering and jumping around, flashing gang signs and dancing after every tackle and crap like that, the defense got in people's faces, the offense dink and dunked down the field and receivers pushed off, they got a lead off the other team's mistakes and then slowly but surely lost it. I saw the same "key to the game" as with past games they have lost, like Green Bay (playoff blowout) or the Giants (2 points!) the Bears last year or even the Saints -- all you have to do to beat them is survive the initial onslaught, then they start to run out of gas, they fold and crumble and make mistakes and the poor coaching and discipline reveals itself. Manning's early turnovers gave them the game because it gave them momentum, without that, chances are they fold.

And had the Falcons not converted on third down on their last drive, they probably would have lost the game. I know that bothers Clown fans, I would feel the same.

There were moments where I thought that the ATL defense had a good scheme, but then a few smart people figured out that "confusion" is not a long term strategy.

Not impressed with Meg Ryan's performance. He got bailed out by a few bad defensive calls and a few very perplexing refereeing decisions.

Needless to say... Atlanta's last 2 games means nothing. Their 2 cheap/easy wins are about as impressive as our 2 losses.

Personally, I thought Atlanta looked pretty good. Skid Britches was throwing some nice passes in locations that could not be defended. Maybe Denver's defense was not that great, but as much as it pains me, I saw some nice passes from Ryan. Atlanta's run game however, was nonexistent. They couldn't run a flag up a flagpole Monday night. If our defense gells to somewhere off the bottom of the list, we might have a chance. If our defense plays Atlanta like we played the Redskins and the Panthers, we're done.

The story everybody took from that game is the horrendous officiating. That game was an officiating and an NFL embarrassment. The sports shows on the radio are still talking about how bad it was. I think the officials stood around after every play doing Rock Paper Scissors just trying to spot the ball.

Atlanta's defense looked good, but two of Mannings ints were way off target. With that many turnovers and to only win by a TD is encouraging for us. Have to say we are not ready to face them yet however.

Atlantas defense looked real good in the first half, in the 2nd both the offense and defense started sputtering somewhat.

If Peyton was his old self, the Falcons would have lost. Only 10 points off 4 turnovers...

Atlanta doesn't scare me at all. They got 4 TO, 1 down at the 3 and only score 27 points! 7 the entire second half. I think they lose by 10 to the Charger this week. Turner doesn't look the same to me maybe because he was drunk now I will say their O-line was impressive containing Miller and Dumerville most of the night but they are not the youngest of linemen and I think they will slow down as the season goes. Gonzales and White still look good especially when they don't call the push offs on White. Nah birds to worry me at all.
