That was a good article. The main thing that it taught me was that we are being SCHOOLED by opponents. Same play/formation works against us two weeks in a row? We will be seeing it again and again and again until Spags finishes "installing his system" and figures out how to stop it.

WTF? I thought we were blaming everything on Shanle this season?

Anyway... Great read on the article... the feeling I get is that our defense is trying to force it, and not let it come... We have been a Blitzkrieg defense and that is what they know... Its difficult to transition to the hesitate a little and let the play develop way of playing which is what zone is in comparison to what we have been doing.

The comment about the LBs continuously biting on the fake is what alluded to that.

IMHO I would rather sit a second or two and let the play develop and tackle the back after a 2-3 yard gain than run right after the fake and get gouged for 30 yards because no one was home.

"The Saints’ linebackers (Scott Shanle, Curtis Lofton and David Hawthorne) did … well, it’s hard to say what they were doing."

This was the best line ever. I know I shouldn't laugh but it's true.

Says it all right there.

It sucks to be Roman Harper.

If he played at LSU instead of Alabama, the fans would probably give him more slack!

I only watched part of the NYG/Panthers game last night, but one play stuck out in my mind as what I wish we had. I'm not sure of the situation, but it was a terrific play by JPP.

At the snap he engaged the tackle, but read run by Newton so he didn't get too far up field. As newton passed behind the tackle, JPP shed the block and tackled Newton for a 2 or 3 yard loss. Perfect! He made it look s easy.

For this D to work, we need some of those types of plays made by that type of player. Until the d-line can hold their own, it won't matter how badly the LBs and Harper plays or how many drops Robinson has.

Harper hasn't played badly at all. Where's that coming from?

Further shows why we should have picked JPP instead of Ingram, not knocking Ingram but the need for a guy like JPP was much more

I wasn't inferring that Harper has played badly. Many seem to think he has and my point is that it doesn't matter until the d-line plays up to par.

Ingram is a good RB, but he runs a bit top heavy. I'd love to be able to trade him to Detroit for a 1st rounder next year (or get a high second somewhere), but I doubt that happens.

Certainly looking back, we should have gone with JPP. I understand we have hindsight now that the staff didn't benefit from then. Shame cause we could have filled an area of need instead an area of surplus. Almost makes me with we had Charles Grant back.
