Can A Win At GreenBay Spark A Rise ?

I know I am Way Over My Head ... But With Seattle and San Fran Writing a Book on How to Shut GB down Offensively and Defensively , If we put together our Finest Game Sunday against the Packers and Win , Does that spark what we have been missing ?

Even further dare I Imagine , If We Beat GreenBay There ( Loss Last Year ) , San Diego Home , And Tampa Bay There ( Loss Last Year ) , Can that Set Our Team on Fire ?

One game at a time. But yeah, IF (and that's a HUGE if) we manage to beat Green Bay, then I would say that would be a gigantic boost to the team's ego.

A win over GB would be huge - and as likely as Kate Upton showing up at my place in her birthday suit needing a place to stay...

Yes that would be a huge step, and fans would feel better, players. That would make the WHO DAT Nation go crazy....
I can hope

It'll give me a rise fer shure!

A win there and there's no doubt in my mind that we make the playoffs and win it all.

Going 0-3 to teams that are all 1-2 is pretty obscene, and to turn it around we would need something equally obscene in the opposite direction.
An 0-3 team that has lost to 3 1-2 teams beating Green Bay at Lambeau is pretty obscene...so yeah, if that happens the last 3 weeks will be a distant memory.

We're only 2 games back of a playoff spot with freaking 13 games to go.

Believe it or not, the Saints do have the players and the ability to beat Green Bay or ANY TEAM in the league.

Remember the stat that Vitt said earlier in the year, since '2006, the Saints are undefeated when they don't turn the ball over.

And I believe the Saints have fielded some pretty crappy defenses during that time!

Joe Vitt cites an amazing New Orleans Saints statistic - Video | NOLA.com

Re: Can A Win At GreenBay Spark A Rise ?

I didn't think we stood much of a chance at Green Bay but having seen the highlights of that game on NFL.com it looks to me that Green Bay have as much of a problem protecting their QB as we do! Sacked 8 times i think it was!!!!

Trouble is I guess a certain Mr Clay Mathews is going to be chasing our QB all over the place as well!

If we bring our A game, have a good set of Refs (giggle, like thats going to happen), and our coaches get their act together (2 consecutive timeouts???????), then we may have a slim chance of getting the win!

It will be very tough though!

And, yes it would give the team and the fans a much needed boost to get things back on track before its too late!!!!!!

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!

Plus this season is starting out weird as hell. Some of these better teams with losing records will right the ship, and the the weaker teams who have better records will fall back down still a L for these better teams could very well make a big difference come playoff time. It could make it so a couple of 9-7 teams make it into the playoffs. Looks like some of these bad calls that teams like Green Bay and SF are getting could actually help us in the long run.

Re: Can A Win At GreenBay Spark A Rise ?

Ya'll are freaking out, pitting the LAST YEAR'S Green Bay Packers against THIS YEAR's Saints, and that would be an obscene blowout, like 51-18 or something. But THIS YEAR the Packers are having troubles, problems of their own, even their own fans will tell you that. Their articles in their local media are like, "what's wrong with the Packers?" just like here. They have a better record than us of course but it ain't like they are this huge unstoppable rolling juggernaut of points.

They're having trouble with their deep ball (just like us), they are giving up sacks (just like us), they are stalling out just before they get into the red zone (with us it's 3 and outs that are killing us, but same effect). They are feeling like other teams have "figured out" how to beat them, and are mystified by why stuff isn't working as well, just like us.

Remember how our crappy so-called "Defense" (and I use the term loosely) DID manage to hold the Chiefs to field goals, a lot of times? I'm not going to predict a win here, it will take a really good game from the Saints, but it's actually a lot more do-able than some of you people might think.

Who took Arizona to go 3-0?

Who picked the Vikings to upset the niners?

And now, who'll pick the Saints to go up to lambeau and pull one out?

Nobody, that's who.

And that's why it's perfect...

We will not beat the Packers. Our Defense will get destroyed!

After last nights tweets, there could be a lot of Packers suspended for this game.

Re: Can A Win At GreenBay Spark A Rise ?

OK, let me try and help you out here - I'm a Packer fan, and I've seen all three of our games.

Point 1 - good news for you lot - our offence is NOTHING like last year's. Four offensive TDs this season, in 3 games. (Not counting a fake 45-yard field goal TD on 4th and 26 against Chicago, which has to be the sweetest trick play I have ever seen.) OK, we've played San Francisco, Chicago and Seattle, all of whom have better-than-average defences, but last year we could shred anyone. There were encouraging signs in the second half of the Seahawks game, though, and with Cedric Benson we do have a viable run game.

Point 2 - now the bad news. The defence is also NOTHING like last year. We have a pass rush. We still have secondary communication issues, but there's less time for them to matter because of the pass rush. The San Fran game was a bad one, I'll grant you, but neither Chicago nor Seattle got anything going significantly. But I presume (I haven't seen any of your games yet) that your offence is still better than either of theirs. I know your QB is.

Good luck. (But not too good.)

This is a loss. GB is pissed and want a win. They came out and destroyed Chicago after a close loss. This is not our week. Feels more like '07 than '09.

Re: Can A Win At GreenBay Spark A Rise ?

Let's all just realize that we will be down 2 scores at halftime. It may not even be worth turning on the tv until the second half. Its going to be another weird game. But for Saints fans, it will be good.

Some folks are saying we don't have a chance. Ok, everybody is saying it. But you know who's not saying it? The Saints.

Some folks are also saying, the Packers will be ticked off and take it out on us. I think the storyline will be "The Packers drop 2 straight" & "Saints finally get a win". See the Packers got robbed. But they feel its an aberration. The Saints are the team that are the most ticked off. They are the best winless team in the NFL. They did it to themselves. They know it. They are ready to take their anger and turn it into production.

That's my best guess. I think it'll take them until the 3rd quarter to catch fire. I just hope Kroemer & Brees remember to bring the matches.

In 2007, we started out 0-4, I took my wife and son (see pic left) to Seattle to watch a demoralized Saints team play a heavily favored Seahawk team. I bummed my buddies season tickets and we sat right in the middle of the old grizzled fair weathered seattle fans. On a night we were given no chance, we gave them an old fashion ass whippin in front of a stunned crowd. Although we finished 7-9 and missed the playoffs, this small speed bump was hardly a pimple on a dogs arse, compared to the ultimate success that lied ahead of us. So, having said that, we simply must keep fightin the fight!

Saints can say the same thing about their loss as well!

I'm worried about the NBA-like "make-up calls" that might be going Green Bay's way now that they got a win taken away from them in front of the world on MNF. The refs will be under a microscope to show they don't have a bias against Green Bay. I mean, who do you think Goodell likes better ... the Packers or the Saints? Unfortunately, that could be what the game comes down to and I'm not afraid to admit it.

Re: Can A Win At GreenBay Spark A Rise ?

Yeah it would give us a lot of momentum beating Green Bay

Only thing in worried about is that, all the great teams are making adjustments to beat the teams that have different styles

Except us, we have yet to make any adjustments and it shows during the game, SF can play great D against any team because they are versatile in their D

This has been a strange season, all across the NFL. GBis having their own issues and I'm not brimming with confidence that we can get the ship righted against them. I'll be watching, rooting our guys on and hoping we get things going and win this game.
