Sullivans weight problem.

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Finally an article that shows Sullivan in a positive light. Actually appears as if he has the right attitude and Haz thinks he's working too: http://www.nola.com/saints/t-p/index...8435274090.xml...

(Defensive assistant) Cortez Kennedy has kind of taken him under his wing. Cortez comes in and walks him on a treadmill every morning at 6:30 for an hour.
When did Cortez Kennedy sign on with the Saints as an assistant coach? He has only been out of the league for a year now and should be able to relate to the defensive linemen very well and will certainly have the respect of the defensive tackles as he was an all-pro most of his career.

One thing that everyone has said about Sully is that though he came in out of shape and not in condition he has not quit in any of the drills. He has been slow and sluggish but has not quit on his teamates and in the long run they will respect him for that.

Sullivans weight problem.

I said a while back that I expect to start hearing positive things about Sully as camp goes on. I\'m going to go out on a limb and say right now that I think Sullivan will be the most improved player from last year. OK, ONE of the most improved.

I really get the feeling that the coaches are making MORE of the Sully situation than what it is. I think they are testing the young man. Pushing his buttons, so to speak. That\'s what the great coaches do. They find a weakness and they exploit it in hopes of pushing a player to his full potential.

Right now Sully thinks he\'s got to give 110% to get his starting job back and prove all the critics wrong. He\'s got all of his teammates behind him encouraging him on.

There\'s hype and then there\'s anit-hype. Most fans are willing to believe the negative way before they let themselves believe the positive.

Watch out for a motivated Sullivan this year!!

Cortez Kennedy was a beast in his day, and if his day had happened any further east than Seattle, you\'d be saying \"future hall of famer\" before his name.

I was surprised when I read that he was a Saint coach too, though. He\'s been out for a few seasons, to my knowledge, but the guy\'s been through it. So if he\'s coaching, I wish him the best.

That\'s what I thought - before the start of training camp. However you wanna spin this - he\'s working hard now, he\'s being made an example of by the coaches, there really isn\'t so much to this story - the fact remains that he was about the onyl one who reported to camp overweight.
Sully himself said in June the few extra pounds wouldn\'t be a problem and he would report in top shape for training camp (although I can\'t find a quote on this right now, maybe I\'m making this up. Anyway, that\'s what he SHOULD have said). No such luck. If you are really committed, you could for example employ a nutritionist for 6 weeks (he sure can afford it).
I really hope he plays up to expectation (including my own, I don\'t wanna be wrong in welcoming that draft pick), but it does seem like he has a slight maturity problem and his breakout season is one more year away.

I really like the new attitude from the Saint\'s management and coaches. First, Sully gets demoted and rightfully so, he should have been in shape. Second, the Saint\'s won\'t pay Henderson the 15k. These examples are the most obvious and I believe are sending a message to the entire team, either do the right thing or pay the price.

Geaux Saint\'s!!!!!
