Well said! If Brooks was not the best QB for the job he would not be in the starting position. This is also a matter of having faith in the head coach that runs this team and got us here. :)

You hit the nail on the head, Gator. Aaron starts because he has proven he can do the best job for the team week in and week out.

You don\'t have to knock Jake\'s abilities just to support Aaron or vise versa. They are both excellent in my book. But you have to go with the guy that you think has the best chance at leading you to victory each week. Apparantly has thinks that up until now, the right choice has been Aaron. And I have to agree with him.

I think it was a wise move to pull Aaron in the 2nd half yesterday, ONLY because he was hurt and could not play as well as possible. Jake did a great job coming off trhe bench, but that does not mean that he is a better all around QB or that he shoud usurp Aaron. If Aaron is healthy and he shows in practice that he is still the man, then he should start, period.

As always, just my opinion...

What would\'ve been a more wise move would to have noticed AB wasn\'t on his game to begin with and to yank him for Jake earlier. Hey, Bill Walsh did it with Joe Montana. They need to move AB around more if they\'re gonna stick with him.

btw, this team could just as easily be 7-7 as they are 9-4.

Haz should have snatched Brooks out in the last Atlanta game and the Browns game after the second INT when he looked over at the sidelines and grinned. Brooks is a great athelete, he`s just not real bright. I like the way Jake runs the offense better, but thats my opinion. I`m very happy of the position we`re in at 9-4, but I can`t help but beleive we could be 12-1 if the QB position was managed better. We can be that good. The talent is there.

I agree with ya gatorman. The problem is that there are 3 or 4 people posting on here that just don\'t like AB...and there\'s NO talkin\' to \'em. They\'re not rational and don\'t don\'t deal in the truth. Jake is a quality QB and I won\'t be worried if he were forced to start, but these people just can\'t deal with the fact that AB is the starter. I think they\'d rather see us lose with AB rather than win...that\'s some bent thinkin\' huh?

All I know is Haslett and the coaching staff say Brooks is the man. These guys are professionals and pretty good ones. I think our coaching staff has proven itself. I gotta go with their evaluation. If Haslett decides that Jake has overtaken AB as the best QB for the team then go Jake and GEAUX SAINTS. If Hasletts says AB is our man than go AB and GEAUX SAINTS. Now when we had Ditka (remember him) I had problems with his decisions (probably because the Saints lost a lot). Now that we have a winning team and a coach with a winning record, I am more comfortable with his decisions (of course there is that 2 point conversion chart :casstet: ). IMHO AB is the best quarterback for the Saints because Haslett says so.

Ok, I`ll agree, Brooks is our man. But I`d still like to WHOP him with a wiffle bat sometimes for stupidity....but all in all I think the QB position is in great shape. We got Brooks and Jake. One`s got the starting job , one wants it. Nuthin like a lil friendly competition huh?
These forums are great. I don`t have to always agree. That`s what we`re doing here. Airing opinions and bringing different light to the table and we all can agree that we want whats best for our team. ;)
