Re: Colston contract a mistake?

I'm not regreting his contract. Colston has a nose for the ball and catches everything..........usually.........anyway before we signed him in the off season teams were lining up for a chance at Colston.

When Sean get's back, a bunch of players are going to find out that he's been watching and they'll be dealt with accordingly.

Hopefully he's watching Sedric Ellis

Also, our #2 WR has been hurt, and our #4 WR was placed on IR.

Colston doesn't seem like the type to let the Big Mo get to him...

Good Point! There are so many variables including Bree's "Summer of Drew"

As if he wasn't in enough pain already...

I think there are a lot of things the Saints regret this year, and Colston's contract is WAY down on that list!

How does Drew get drug into everything?

Has to be the contract that he has, he said that he didn't want a contract that wouldn't allow the Saints to sign other players and that's exactly what happened.
His performance this year hasn't been that of a 100 million dollar QB

I always thought Colston was a product of our system. I thought Nicks was a more important piece.

Couldn't agree more, why let go of the best offensive lineman. I can only think of 1 reason, had to pay Drew Bree's and couldn't afford him

In a perfect world we would have signed Drew and tagged Nicks. This would have given us room to sign more D help like a Laron Landry which I would have loved and move Harper to Lb. or just any defenders.

And when drew said he wanted a team friendly contract so we could re-sign other players, he dragged it out for that long that we couldn't franchise nicks, if brees agreed to a contract quicker, colstons contract would be done and we could has franchise nicks

But brees' team friendly deal proved to be everything but team friendly, now we have a frail O line, a battered and slow receiving corp and underachieving 100 million dollar man
