Two most disappointing players

Lance Moore and Marques Colston. They're catching the ball about as good as a backboard.

Re: Two most disappointing players

Lance Moore only has one dropped ball an the colston drop was tipped yeah it shoulda been caught. The biggest dissapointment is the defense. A Rodgers has ALL day back there and was sacked 8 or 9 freaking times against Seattle. Makes no since to me... I'm sitting here on my couch yelling at my TV cause I the defense.

Re: Two most disappointing players

If your talking about offense, I would say Mark Ingram as well. We traded back in the first round to pick him and he hasn't done anything. I know we're not a running team, but you don't draft a RB in the first round and only give him 5 to 8 carries a game. As far as Defense goes, everyone has been a disappointment.

Any of the guys on the dline certainly qualify.

Moore dropped 2 and he is 3rd in league in drops. Graham was 1st

Re: Two most disappointing players

Yeah there are a bunch of people looking like crap out there but you don't expect those two to be in that number. Colston redeemed himself a little but Lance continued to drop balls all day. I don't care what the official stats say Moore dropped about 5 passes today. And Sproles dropped one could have changed the game. It's like a contagious disease.

it is a team thing.

no one looks that good.

the team looks flat as a whole

Moore dropped atleast 4 passes, sproles dropped what would have led to the game winner

We have 3 seasons with this D, what a nightmare

For several years now we bring in some beef to line-up with Ellis. Every year we say that's gonna be the guy to take pressure off of Ellis and allow him to shine, and he doesn't.

Maybe the problem isn't the damn guy next to Ellis.

I vote Ellis and Dave Thomas (the holding penalty on Hartley's field goal attempt was fatal, just can't happen).

The drops are killing us. I don't understand it. I'm no football pro in any way, shape, or form, but how can an entire team suddenly forget how to catch the ball like this?

One drop would have been a TD, another would have kept our final drive going; either one possibly winning the game for us. It is so frustrating.

Colston had like 9-10 catches today

Re: Two most disappointing players

Moore can make a remarkable catch on one play and look like a complete fool on the next, Graham was a non factor in the second half for the most part. Colston, I thought was okay, but dropped some balls too. I;m surprised, I would have thought our receivers would be graded in the A range, but i'd say C at best. As a group, backs and TE's included our recievers are just average right now. That's pretty dissapointing to me, the defense, I expected to be questionable during the transition, but the one area I thought I could count on was our recieving corpse.

Re: Two most disappointing players

Colston had 9 catches for 153 yards and a TD
Moore 7 for 67

Re: Two most disappointing players

has to be grahm, and a toss up between sproles, and moore.the drops are getting worst. grahm had no excuse, yes deback jumped the play on goal line but he did'nt effect where the ball landed, thru his hands and a missed t.d. moore of the same, great catch, poor miss. sproles could have possibly put game away, hes done this before why not today.at least he manned up and took blame. grahm still young. moore should have his hands together by now.it was'nt a totall loss but a loss.

I don't know who to think. Everyone has been, but i want to trade Ingram. He might be good, be we will never find out. That is as long as he is a Saint.

Our players drop balls all the time. Henderson, which would have gave us a first and goal, Moore, Sproles, hell they all dropped a pass today. The only one who didn't drop one today was Morgan. I almost crapped myself when he held on to it.
The D just flat sucks. I'm tired of picking on them

That's my point. I mean, what's the point in drafting a skills players you will not utilize correctly? The running plays with Ingram are terrible. So far this season ANY running play has is terrible with ALL out running backs, PT included.

I like Ingram. I think he'll be a solid NFL back.

Right now we are super overly desperate for a solid, pass-rushing, ball hog monster on the d-line. I say package Ingram up with Devery (or whatever else) and make a damn trade with a team who needs them and activate Ivory.

Somebody, something... we have a ton of talent on offense sitting the bench and a defense lacking at almost every position.

Re: Two most disappointing players

If Shankley could hit two snaps in a row with seven yards difference, we'd have a massive win. But he's SHANKLEY.

Lance was 50/50 today. It frustrated me to see Drew keep going to him, but...

Loved that Morgan T.D. But it's still a hung jury as to whether he will be productive.

Thomas... Come on man!

Brees would have had 600 yards if we had no drops. And we would have won.

We owed Sproles a couple mistakes. He's NEVER made these before.

This is our second fake punt failure in recent memory. We'll see another is my guess.

I miss Meachem. Sorry. I'll probably say that again next week when he scores.

We're getting all this national TV time and we're 0-4. THAT SUX.

Alaska

What makes you think Meach would be immune from the bubonic football drop plague going around the Saints right now?

Seriously, the drops today became comical to where the 3 of us watching the game started to laugh.

When Sproles dropped today I knew "the voodoo fix" was in. I'm seeing drops across the entire team and don't know how Meach would be immune.

Sure handed receivers dropping balls doesn't make sense what are the odds.
One of two things SP is not on the sideline waiting to chew them out, or who's chucking the balls to them in the first place.

Mark Ingram, like Reggie Bush, would be a stud on any other team. We didn't have any business trading up for a player that we would surely waste anyway.

How about this, if we have people dropping balls, then coaching should be throwing balls at these guys in practice till they drop!

we should have no less than 5 of these. 2 hours each day for everyone that catches passes, no less than 100 catches a day to move on to something else.

ok i have been sitting and giving this kid time to show me something.

No i did not jump up and down over the pick and still think PT is our #1 RB.

Now my issue to date has not been so much Mark and his inability to impress me as it has been the way the saints use him. Since mid season of last year teams played 8 in the box or ran run blitzes when he took the field.

So i can not pass judgement on him at this point. the saints are very predictable now in what we running and defenses know how to play us.

what will you get for him? squat! Lets try working on his blocking and blitz pick ups or sit down and figure a way to get him open in the flat. Because he is a straight line runner that has maybe one cut when hitting the line. he has yet to show the ability to sneak though a defenses front 7. Then again our OL is to blame for part of it. I will not go there.

so i say we are stuck with him or better he is stuck with us till the saints build an OL that can run block better. face it we have two solid OG and a serviceable center and two OT that leave a lot to be desired at this point for two very different reasons.

i said i was not going there. sorry

Its how we use him or dont use him that is an issue for me. Either way its telegraphed and he is not getting a fair "run" at things.

Re: Two most disappointing players

Curtis Johnson, that is our problem. Remember when Devery dropped everything and anything. Curtis J. worked with him then Devery became a very legit WR.
Now he is gone and EVERYONE on our staff drops the damn ball. I know we cant get CJ back, but whoever is the new WR coach needs to get slapped in the face for a wake up call or his ass is gone after this year.

No I bet we could get something for him. HE will be a better back in a different system. Anyone who knows football can see that. Yes our O line cant open a hole for ****, but we need to do something, Ivory will not get us anything. Plus we are not going to trade PT or Sproles. We don't have much to trade, but number 22 would get us something. If not that will just be another wasted pick.

Henry Ellard is our new WR coach. Great WR, but great players typically make awful coaches.

Our WR's looked their best when Curtis was here, then he gets a HC job.

Our secondary looked their best when Dennis Allen was here, and we lose him to a HC job.

Great Player/Awful coach - See Mike Singletary

Re: Two most disappointing players

Ingram has had zero productivity to warrant a first round pick.
I'm kind of tired of Jenkins being caught out of position on screens all the time.

What has me burned more than anything else: How about the fan in the Brees jersey in the end zone BEFORE kick off with a friggin' bag on his head? Or am I the only one who caught that?

Mardigras9 10-01-2012 09:58 AM

Re: Two most disappointing players

The WR's dropping balls is certainly disappointing, but they have caught some impossible balls also. Ingram has not been able to show any greatness, time to put Ivory back in the mix.

Shoe. 10-01-2012 10:10 AM

Re: Two most disappointing players

While Lance had some drops yesterday, he also had a couple clutch "Lance Moore" type catches, so he's not on my **** list...yet

Two to blame?

D-LINE - no pressure, no excuses. Its gotta happen and its sure isn't right now

PETE CARMICHAEL - offensive play calling is predictable at best. Three straight passes with two yards to gain at the goal line? Mark Ingram gained positive yards every time he carried the ball, for about two yards every time yet we pass three times (given, one of those passes was to Ingram, and that's the first time this season I've seen them roll him out that way, but still)...smh
