Payton's Absence Hitting Hard

i feel like this is the absence of payton hitting us hard, we had this one, but for some reason our play calling is just garbage on offence...certainly not impressed by our db's though, they just porpoise dive at the receivers and can't wrap up at all. although i think we'll start winning some games now and pull together, this season is pretty well done...time to talk about draft picks and, of course, the glorious return of Payton. Still a proud, representing member of Who Dat Nation...you win this round Good-fornothing-ell, but I can't wait to see your ****ing face when we go undefeated, sb champs next year.

Well, I think this is about the 10th thread on this subject.
The consensus has been yes in the previous 9 threads.

I thought the offense and coaching weren't that bad. The defense struggled but Sp wouldn't have helped today I don't think. Maybe the drops. But I thought Coaching wasn't bad today.

I know myself and several others feel the loss of Sean Payton is obviously a challenge since game 1. The quote is "Are the Patriots "The Patriots" without Billichek?"

The player contract arguments come from angry fans. It's an immature argument because the Saints are not the only team to ever dole out large contracts and the team turn around and drop an egg the next season.

Drew's contact, as well as Colston, etc. is just a natural consequence of the game. You want 'em, you gotta pay for 'em.

Biggest dismay has been people claiming they miss Tracy Porter and Meachum. Unfortunately, we cannot pay every key player on offense.

But consensus is Payton's absence is a main factor in lack of team cohesion on the team.

CLUSTER****........

It's just a cluster****. No Payton, Kromer cant be with the o-line as much, we can't run block, everyone knows when we are running, a piece of **** D-line, garbage secondary, hot and cold O, dumb play calling, dumb penalties, a kicker who gets on the field I expect to miss everything, drop passes, no heart, oh and a LEAUGE THAT WANTS US TO LOSE,(how in the hell did GW get to go to the Rams game), did I mention no Payton. ****.....****......****IT......CLUSTER****.

Football players are boys, not men. They don't do physics, chemistry, write. They are simpletons and need simple motivation.
The abstinence of fear in Paytons void is causing this. There motivation and father figure is gone. He's a brilliant coach, and they are not brilliant players.

Hopefully we get Vilma back for the end of the season and he can become a leader in the locker room, and maybe he can regain his old form for next year

I'll make a bold prediction, Sean Payton may return this season, but not until after game 8. Totally not a rumor or based on any fact or information, just a hunch.

Herr Goodell usually lightens suspensions for those that do exactly what he tells them to do during the suspension.
Sean Payton has behaved and hasn't broken his suspension at all. Would be nice if he could come back with at least a couple wins there. It's not impossible.

Agreed. Not after the game I saw today... it's not over at all.

No It is not over, we will outscore 31 of 32 teams if we play like this. And on any given Sunday we could beat GB too. I guarantee GB does NOT want to meet us in the playoffs, we gave there #1 passing defense fits.

I like the positive thread. Don't think Vilma is the answer, however. Although I'll take a 50% Vilma over a 100% Shanle any day.

I have been skeered to put my neck out and make that prediction, but I have been feeling the same as well, for a while now. Herr Goodell also has a history of walking back suspensions, when it becomes obvious later that he ****ed up and it wasn't popular. I'm not hoping too much, but I think it's entirely within the realm of possibility that we may get Coach Payton back from Herr Goodell as a Christmas present. ESPECIALLY if the team keeps cratering, and it becomes an embarrassment. Smart people "out there" who know the game, they see these close losses and how Drew's playing, and they know that we (the innocent fans) are being screwed.
