We aren't doing our Jobs as Fans Either ...

1 Attachment(s)
Let me Repeat We aren't doing our Jobs as Fans and supporters Either ...

I am an optimist , but if you are a doubter then you are no true saint fan ... One time ... Hope was all we had ... We still have a chance , now lets collectively act like it ! Our players are people too and you have to know they read some of what we post ... We can inspire them the way they inspired us !

Now thats Clear and out the Way ...

1st : We Went Punch for Punch with the Best Offense and 3rd Best Defense at their house AND YOU KNOW THEY WERE UP FOR THAT GAME TO SAY THE LEAST . Heck we were even closer than last years team. Thats the best Team we will play this year.

Sean Payton may have his Suspension Reduced to 8 Games ... We can make it to week 8 Alive , we have a real shot ...

We have only lost 1 Division Game to a team that themselves have lost 2 Games in our division and we STILL have 5 Division Games Left. We can still smoke our Division like we always have.

The Real Saints are back ... Nuff Said WHODAT#

Best offense and 3rd best defense? Link?

I have Offense 20th and Defense 10th

Re: We aren't doing our Jobs as Fans Either ...

I'm not counting what the Replacement Officials schemed up. They Were 3rd Before playing Us. And Just like the Real Brees , and Peyton are back , So is the Real Aaron Rodgers.

Stop reading after you said I am not a fan because I am a realist. So by your logic, if one has doubts about how this season is going to turn out, one is not a fan...yeah ok

Do what???? What the hell? The game against us was the first game with out the replacement refs!

So in just one day they have become the best offense and 3rd best defense?

By Real Numbers and Factual Evidence , We are Far From Done with 5 Division Games Remaining , Argue with that

The Payton suspension reduction is all hearsay, joe horn just speculating at the minute

When it's reported by a trusted source ill believe it will happen

That being said, we are getting better every week, unleash hell on SD!!

Re: We aren't doing our Jobs as Fans Either ...

There's nothing wrong with realism, but you gotta admit that some fans out there are acting like we are the Cleveland Browns -- as if our game against the Chiefs and Skins was as good as we can possibly hope to get, the highest peak the team can reach. This is it, we suck, and we are doomed to continue sucking -- as if this is all there is in store for us, forever in the future, we will limp along until draft day 2013 when MAYBE we can win a game.

Let's recap the exploits of the "headless chicken" Saints so far:

Game 1, Redskins - looked good for 1 drive on both sides of the ball, then fell apart
Game 2, Panthers - looked dominant for 1 quarter, then fell apart
Game 3, Chiefs -- looked good for one full half, then fell apart
Game 4, Packers - looked like "the normal Saints" of last year until what? 2:49 left in the 4th or something?

It's painful to watch these games, but it's also kinda difficult NOT to see a trend forming there. A trend of maybe a little less painful on the eyes?

This was the most "complete" game on offense and defense we have played so far, against the best team we've played, and while some of those other games were ugly and not ever as close as they appeared to be, this one was actually a close game. And some people here were predicting the Packers were going to drop 40 on us, that it would be this scorched earth blowout and all that.

Re: We aren't doing our Jobs as Fans Either ...

We are 0-4, that is the stat that really matters.
Thankfully we still have 5 division games left, but we need a little help with ATL, almost got it from the Panthers if Cam could have held on to the ball late.

Plus the last two games we have forced 4 turnovers on D, our O is getting back to normal, we are gradually getting better we just need better performance from D line, DB's and WR

Re: We aren't doing our Jobs as Fans Either ...

1. The Packers have has less than mediocre defenses for a few years now. This year they are 10th.

2. They are not in the Top 10 of ANY offensive categories. Actually their strongest category is passing and they just break the top 15.

Your comments about the refs makes absolutely no sense. And if you think I am willing to believe that our Defense knocked their offense from 1st to 20... well your as high as duck @#$$y.

What you saw clearly must be what is called a figment.

If we put two on Atl, take the panties and beat the Bucks twice, we are over Atl.

All of which can be done if we play like we plays yesterday... If we pull it together any better... We will be Div Champs.

I too stopped reading when you began making accusations as to who is and who isn't a real fan.

Quite frankly, I am so sick of hearing that BS. I am optimistic (read most of my posts), but I hate it when people spout off about who is and who isn't a real fan. It's kind of like saying, "I'm not a racist, but..." In other words, if you have to start pointing fingers as to who isn't a fan, you probably aren't one yourself.

Re: We aren't doing our Jobs as Fans Either ...

"if you are a doubter then you are no true saint fan"

So, my 70 year old dad, who was in Tulane stadium when Dempsey kicked the 63 yarder, who cried like a baby when the Saints finally won the big one, he's not a real Saint fan under your theory. You should hear some of the negativity that comes out of his mouth, but I promise you he's more of a Saint fan then you will ever be.

I'm done contributing to this thread.

I agree 100%

I do see improvement also. What I don't see any improvement in is the D line. In all the years I have been watching football, you have to atleast hurry the QB. We are putting the weight of the world on the offense. The pressure is getting to them. When it comes to having to have a play, they are dropping balls, getting stupid penalties etc. I will continue to hope and cheer for our boys but I am not going to get my hopes up. It don't hurt as much.

Life, like being a Saints fan, should be a mixture of doubt and optimism. IMO you shouldn't be too far on one end or the other.

Negativity does not mean your not a real fan

Every week i watch the game whilst logged on to live chat

For the last 4 weeks I've been complaining about how our team has been playing, but still I haven't missed a game in 5 years and I show up every week, just because people complain and get a little negative when we do bad doesn't mean we aren't real fans, if anything it shows how much we all care because we always stay with the team no matter how bad they do

Exactly.

Let me tell those Saints fans of the past ten years something:

There are a number of fans here who...

...watched John Gilliam run a kickoff back for a TD, not realizing that other than a half-footed Tom Dempsey set an unlikely Field Goal, would leave fans with not much to cheer, until...

...were there to watch an amazing talent in Archie Manning get clobbered before the rules to protect the quarterback were even speculated...

...were there to watch Buddy Deliberto slobber on WDSU ridicule the team that many of us loved reporting that fans should continue wearing bags...

...were there as Bum Phillips traded away all the talent the Saints had save Ricky Jackson and Stan Brock for over the hill bums...

...were there when Mr. Finks brought respectability to the Saints, installling a winning tradition with solid drafts and good coaching hires...

...were there when Coach Mora stubbornly refused to adjust, even in games, and let the best players go without the guidance of Jim Finks...

...were there when Buddy D convinced season ticket holders to lobby for Mike Ditka who, in turn, brought us a bipolar running back wearing a wedding dress...

...were there when Jim Haslett showed that a head coach should sometimes shut it, trust his players and his assistants who were better than him and not a quarterback who thought everything was a joke...

...were there when Hurricane Katrina and local bums destroyed our home giving Mr Benson an excuse to take it all away to San Antonio...

...were there for "The Block" on MNF against the Saints with music of Green Day & U2 still ringing in our ears...

...were there for the march to Lombardi Gras and validation of over forty years of painful drama...

...we have earned the right to cheer, to boo, to laugh, to cry, and now, to demand excellence.

Wow ... I mean just wow ... Alot of Haters and we're all Saints Fans ... You obviously are the guilty party because you took offense to what I said ( Notice I didn't Point anyone out ) just said , I know the players read this and we should be holding them up when they need it the same way they held New Orleans up when the Government was considering whether or not to even rebuild it. Alot of " on the contrary " kind of folks SMH. But go ahead doubt and hate all you want , I'm just not giving up on the Saints they are more to me than a Team. They did alot for me in a very bad part of my life ... So who am I to not do the same for them at a bad part in theirs ?

Re: We aren't doing our Jobs as Fans Either ...

Nobody (OK, well 99% of the members here, anyway) will give up on this team if they are 1-15 again.

That said, we live in the real world here and know this season is all but mathematically lost.

Sorry, but anyone questioning someone's "fandom" or calling people bandwagon fans because they have had their expectations this season nuked make me say what I said.

That kind of rhetoric oozes from every pore of SR.com and we don't need that here.

I seriously doubt that anyone willing to even show up and talk about what is wrong with this team could be labeled as anything other than a REAL FAN.

The posers, fakes, bandwagoners, et al left at 0-2

Please do not misunderstand the reply's you are receiving on your thread. None of us are "haters" of the Saints. Right now we are hating on you because of your judgements and labels you have chosen to apply here. We have earned the right to feel how we feel about the team we continue to support with out having our fandom questioned by you.

You would have gotten a lot further had you not personally attacked and labeled people as non fans because they do not buy into your definition of being a fan. Everyone handles things in their own way and you should respect that. Some vent, some hold it in, some remain realists, some optimistic, some prefer gloom and doom.

The fact of the matter is that they are all still here on B&G because they love their team in their own way. On Sunday they will all be pulling for a win, wearing something black and gold...

Please take a moment to reflect on your approach, we are all brothers in this but to be honest if my brother questioned my love for the Saints he would have to watch Sundays game through swollen eyes. Do what you need to, say what you need to say, don't label the fans that are here.

Huggz!

Trust me, even though we're b*tching, we're showing up for the games, and we are bringing holy hell to the Dome. So while we might bemoan and hand-wring, we'll never stop supporting the Saints.
