Re: Brees Breaking the Unbreakable

It has long been thought that Johnny Unitas's record of 47 games with a touch down pass was one of the elite unbreakable records.
With all the new rules turning the NFL into arena football, that record will probably be surassed by more than just Brees over the next decade.

Could be broken by Brady week 17 unless The Texans or Niners (who the Pats face in consecutive weeks) hold him without one.

Edit: forgot to count their bye...should be week 17, not 16...

If Brees keeps going, the record will not be "broken" by Brady in week 17. The Unitas record is already broken. Brees now holds the record. Brees holds the record until he stops scoring consecutive TD's. Just sayin'.

No, totally. The post I was responding to read "That Record" so I thought the poster was referring to the 47 consecutive game mark...not the new one...

Re: Brees Breaking the Unbreakable

Ah I got it. It's all good... I just want everyone to celebrate that it is BREES' record now.... I love Unitas of course, but Brees is now THE MAN to beat, and Brady and everyone else is behind him. And Brees is not done with the streak yet!

That was amazing. More important than Marino's. Just really something. The pregame interview from Brees was nice. The letter sent by the Unitas family was nice.
The Unitas family there, his son, should have been seated in a suite or booth even by the NFL. The guy was there is reg seats.
It would have nice to have him seated with the Brees family.
