NO. You are presuming WRONGLY again.

I took it from no ones post. You brought up a city in California so I figured I would bring up another that had just as much bearing on my reply or feelings towards the Mannings.

I know exactly whom I am replying to, and exactly what I am saying.

I bet you do. Have you been on this board before...possibly with another name? You remind me of someone.

You either love 'em or hate 'em. So many people say the same thing regarding looks and demeanor. I just thought it was an interesting topic...that's all.

good question, good thread, interesting topic. Post on and dont worry.

Again, an Exhibition Opinion, being born in Houston, but I didnt want Archie's kids playing in New Orleans, because the expectation would have been so high, the
first time Peyton threw an interception / lost a game, and the crowd turns on
him--- that would have been heartbreaking. I remember Bobby Hebert, a Bayou kid himself, having a tough day, getting heckled by people who should have been his biggest fans. I would have gone to the Falcons and then did "airplane arms" too, after what he must have heard from the stands.

It sounded like a dream deal, Peyton to the Saints, but I just think the expectation would have led to needless stress.

No Mike. I'll keep it here. My original reply was my honest opinion about the Manning boys.
He came at me because my opinion didn't align with his, and he assumed he knew my reasons and where I was from. He was wrong on all accounts.

No...that is totally wrong. You made a comment about the Manning boys throwing tantrums, and I merely asked you if it were the San Diego incident that you were referring to...because other than that, I can't recall any incidents of tantrum throwing. I consider someone like Rivers when it comes to tantrums...not any of the Mannings.

You took my comment as being argumentive when it wasn't...I was just trying to get you to be more specific and you took it as an attack, and I was curious to see if your opinion was one from a person from Louisiana. That is all.

People did, there was some talk about it at the time...but mostly from kinda homeristic or simplistic fans, unrealistic fans, sentimental types, the kind I call the "bring back Darren Sharper" crowd today, the fans who wanted to re-sign Deuce as a running back and put him in for one play in the Super Bowl (and yes, I really did hear someone say that).... The Saints were middle of the pack at the time, 8-8, 7-9 type teams, not good, not especially bad, so they didn't really have a shot at drafting either of the Mannings anyway, it was never a very realistic scenario.

Thanks for the feedback, Bro. I do believe you are correct when you mentioned that the situation never really presented itself...other than some sort of blockbuster trade, like Ernie Acorsi pulled-off in '04 to get Eli.

Who was QB for the Saints in '04...AB?

A lot of drunk callers into Buddy D wanted it...let's put it that way. Peyton I know was during the Ditka era so stuff was all messed up, as far as what the team needed and what Ditka wanted and all that.

I'm not a Manning fan at all. I have no loyalties to any of them. I wasn't a Saints fan when Archie played. I had no problem with Peyton until he walked off the field after the Super Bowl without acknowledging not even one Saints player to congratulate them. I thought it was poor taste from someone of his caliber. Some will defend him and say he's a competitor, he was upset, yadda, yadda. In my opinion, it was pretty unsportsmanlike. I haven't liked Archie or Eli since Eli was drafted. I won't elaborate anymore on that, because I've voiced my disdain over that situation a few times before a long time ago. My dislike of the Mannings doesn't really have anything to do with where they attended college.

Thanks, D...and I do understand your dislike of Peyton's behavior and had forgotten. This is the kind of stuff I'm looking for, btw.

Don't take this as an attack, because I am just curious. (getting a little gunshy from asking questions :)) Are you old enough to remember what Elway did regarding the draft, and are you not an Elway fan today because of that...that is, if you remember?

I remember Elway refused to play for Frank Kush/ Baltimore Colts. I dont know if anyone ever did that before, but it was not
taken to kindly by anyone, fans, anyone, even though the Colts were a terrible organization.... People thought Elway had no right to refuse the draft, and that he was a "brat." He was brutally knocked in games the first season, and everyone seem to applaud the beatings.

People for some reason didnt like Elway's teeth, thought he was smiling, or taunting opponents or something.... If you look closer, most of the time, it
was actually a grimace--- he was straining, or tightly focusing. The first time
I heard he refused the Colts draft, and would go to Baseball instead, I admit,
I didnt like him. Now, I think he's a good guy. Very happy he won SB rings.
