This first rounder is good and bad for the saint's it is good because it is a first round pick. The thing is you may as well consider it a number 2 cause it is going to be a high number 1 pick. Thinks we should go linebacker or cb with are second first round pick
maybe Has will opt for two conerbacks. Who knows

Good yes, bad no Having two first round picks gives us more flexibility. We can draft for position and also take a great athlete with the additional pick. It all depends on where we think a good position player will be taken and what athletes are on the board when we get to pick. The Saints have proven that they can draft well in the past two drafts so extra early round picks help us out all the way.

As it stands right now the saints would have 2 picks out of the first 26 picks. Thats without any move up trade ... and that is pretty darn good. No, i don\'t think the saints will go all the way this year.

Miami will not make it to the playoffs after a great year by RW. They have a tough 3games left and looks like they will have to win out.

I think the SAINTS should draft to fill the weak spots, namely the offensive line, the secondary (if Carter doesn\'t prove that he can be counted on to make a full season contribution, if Knight can be retained and/or if Bellamy can\'t hold his own) and possible beef up the defensive line some more.

We already have the most explosive set of scoring weapons in the league, but we need to protect our passer (Brooks is at his best when he is not under constant pressure) and open up even more lanes for Duece. This could allow the SAINTS to break even more passing and rushing records, with Duece hopefully putting up better numbers than Ricky next year.

We also need to cut down on our opponents scoring -- 20 points or more per game will eventually come back to bite us in the ass. You can\'t be expected to win Superbowls with a porous defense.

Whatever we do, I have faith in the SAINTS\' front office to make sure that next year\'s team will be even better that this year\'s.

These are just my thought and I welcome any other opinions.

Go SAINTS!!!!!

i really believe that this years team was built for next year, no one expected us to be good this year and i think we will be much better next year, how many of our free agents that we signed durin the off season are starting in their first year with team? with an extra year under their builts, they will be much improved in playing together, and will be a force to reckon with

Offseason signings starting: Kendall Jacox, Dale Carter, Ken Irvin (when carter isnt healthy or suspended) David Sloan, Grady Jackson, Spencer Folau, and Jerome Paython. This team was built to win this season. The defense is coming around. They allowed 2 big plays last week that made the game look closer than it was. I dont know what you are talking about the offensive line for daviddrake 2 they have played all but 2 games in dominating fashion. This is one of the best if not the best offensive line in football and with the exception of Fontenot are all relativly young. StoneyMountain said that the Saints have proven they can draft in the last 2 drafts. Randy Mueller did the last two and Loomis and Has are going to have to show that he wasnt the only reason they drafted good. This team has as good of chance of going to the Bowl as any. There isnt a team in either conference that I think is better than the Saints.

another lil tidbit, if the saints decide not to resign sammy and designate him as the \"franchise\" player, the team that does sign him will have to give up 2 first round draft picks, one this year, and one next year, so the saints could end up with 3 first round draft picks this year, if that situation were to play out, but i hope that sammy is resigned

What will signing 2 first round picks do to our salary cap? Will that still leave us room to keep the talent we have now?

it shouldnt hurt us too much, the top picks get big contracts but later on in the first round its not as bad, charles grant signed a five-year, $6.25 million deal. The signing bonus and option bonus total $3.45 million and he will also receive a $300,000 reporting bonus. i cant find any information on dante\'s contract
