I was just watching Sportscenter on ESPN,and they picked the Saints as their surprise superbowl contender in the NFC !

It looks like the media is starting to notice what we've got down here in Nawlins.

Our defense could be down right scary before it's over.

I just hope our offense is up to the challenge.

Wow.

Two things here:

- If the media is showing love, that\'s a BAD thing. The Saints play their best ball when everyone thinks they\'re worthless.

- If the OFFENSE is up to the challenge? How much you want to bet that the Defense finishes AT LEAST 5 spots behind the O (barring injury) this season? Man, you guys are really eating up the hype out of camp.

You know the sports guys for ESPN thought long and hard before making this prediction. They obviously see what all of us do, me painted gold with a black fleur de leis painted on my chest at the 50 yard line of the Superbowl.

I\'m not trying to be overly optimistic, but I always thought I would look good painted like that. It would match my the fleur de leis tattoo on my arm.

Hey Whodat,I\'ve been to training camp and watched our defense at work these guys look alot better than they did last year.There is alot of speed out there,and defensive line coach John Pease is a master of motivation.Bryan Young never stops moving.He even jogs in place while waiting for the next play.Grant looks ready for a breakout year.Will Smith will be a big surprise in the league.Darren Howard will be awesome as usual.the defensive line is going to make all the other positions on this defense look real good. :P

To BigBull - I haven\'t seen the Saints at all, as I am in Chicago, so I will take your word that they look better. Still, I have a hard time believing that they will be better than the offense.

I mean, try this:

Name a starter on O who is a big question mark. Who hasn\'t played up to expectations, who isn\'t talented, or where there is some question remaining.

Stallworth. Anyone else?

Now do the same for defense. I\'ll let you do that and hopefully you\'ll get my point.

I see what you are saying Whodat.

The MLB position IMO will surprise alot of folks this year.

Jay Bellamy has been very vocal in practice during camp.He is acting with a real sense of urgency on the field,making sure everyone on D is paying attention to detail.

John Pease is like a firecracker.He keeps the D line moving every second they\'re on the field.

Derrick rodgers is taking more of a leadership role also.

The offense however has been sporadic so far during camp.

We were all pretty optimistic last year at this time. Then the team started playing some preseason games and we saw a team that lacked energy, among other things. That type of play continued into the season combined with injuries and resulted in a 1-5 start.

Now before the Saints have even gone head-to-head against another team in preseason you people are going to buy into this superbowl hype?

I\'m not saying it\'s not possible. I\'m saying lets wait to get all hyped up about how good this team is until after we\'ve seen it against some decent competition.

Question...where\'d ESPN pick us finishing last year?

btw, I\'m going to get to see that head-to-head matchup LIVE and in person friday night! :D
