Will the return of Joe Vitt bring energy back to the New Orleans Saints?

There was no doubt some magic was in the air last Sunday when the New Orleans Saints faced the San Diego Chargers. It may have been because it was a home game or that quarterback Drew Brees was poised to break Johnny Unitas’ consecutive passing touchdown record. But was it something or better yet someone else?

The suspended trio of head coach Sean Payton, linebackers coach Joe Vitt, and general manager Mickey Loomis were also in the building thanks to the plea from Brees to the NFL in order to let them attend the record setting night.

Will the return of Joe Vitt bring energy back to the New Orleans Saints?

What Vitt is going to bring, I hope, is stability in the o-line, because Kromer will be able to give his undivided attention to the o-line.

I don't see how it can hurt. It could get the team a little excited to have one of their coaches back, and as Tobias-Reiper just said, it allows Kromer to concentrate on the O-linie.

Our defensive problems were mostly blowing assignments, not a lack of energy.

The press conferences will have much more potential than those State Department press releases by Kromer...

Plus, the defense has had more time in the Spagnulo System...

Whatever they are or are not, they are nearly historic in their suckage.

I have no idea how the linebackers coach will be better at head coach than the o-line coach.

Tobias_Reipier is right, if it adds another person to staff to help manage an already depleted coaching team, then that's great. Will Vitt replace Kromer, I have no idea.

Remember, Vitt has said time and again he's no head coach.

We are going on a 12 game tear and beat the Falcons in the playoffs. Hell screw the 11 game tear, I just want to sweep the Falcons at this point. We beat Tampa twice the year they went to the SB, we can do it again. Not that the Falcons are going to make it past round 1.

Joe has been an AHC before plus he has coached nearly every defensive position (LB/FS/SS/CB) with the exception of the D front 4.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say we would use a little help in just about everything he is experienced in.

If your looking for a Sean Payton keep looking. If you are looking for someone that may can bridge a bunch of gaps, Joe is your man.
