Translation: There is now way in hell Goodell is going back to New Orleans in another three years!!

The NFL has narrowed it to two candidates for Super Bowl L, and the runner-up will bid against Houston for the following year.

The league announced that Miami and the new 49ers stadium in Santa Clara would bid to host the 50th Super Bowl.

There was an earlier report that had New Orleans as part of the mix, but that’s apparently not the case.

Doug Tatum of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported that New Orleans would likely bid for Super Bowl LII, which would coincide with the city’s tricentennial.

Going to California would follow with the league’s tendency to reward new stadiums with the chance to host the big game, while they’d likely expect upgrades to Sun Life Stadium (and wouldn’t be above using a huge carrot to leverage local money) if the milestone game went to South Florida.

What did Roger do.

A team cannot bid on a future super bowl until after they host the current one. No way the owners will consider anything for NOLA till the smoke clears & this ones over.

I don't think teams have any say at all; it would be the Chambers of Commerce of potential host cities that would try to convince the NFL to let city X host the Super Bowl.

The Superbowl 50 was going to be during Carnival, New Orleans probably would have been considered otherwise, the 32 owner's love the city of New Orleans as much as all of them would love to have the show in their own stadium New Orleans always win's the favor over the other 30 owner's that aren't vying for it in their own city, the commissioner, despite popular belief has really little to do with the bidding process, all he does is moderate it..

I think the point about the league's tendency to award SuperBowls to teams that build new stadiums is major. Otherwise, how would have Detroit gotten two SuperBowls?

... and a SuperBowl during Carnival? Entertainment overload, I would go & probably never come back (home), :lol:.
