New Orleans Saints receiver Joe Morgan taken to hospital for observation
New Orleans Saints receiver Joe Morgan, who had a 48-yard second quarter touchdown pass from Drew Brees on Sunday, left the game in the third quarter with a chest injury and was taken to a hospital.
Morgan's condition remains unknown, but interim Saints coach Aaron Kromer said Morgan's hospital visit was more for precautionary reasons. Morgan was able to meet the team at the airport and fly back to New Orleans with his teammates.
"About to be wheels up finally," Morgan tweeted before taking off. "Sorry the team had to wait on me, lol. I'm all good. Great game!"
Morgan's injury appeared to be the only serious ailment the Saints suffered. Linebackers Jonathan Casillas and Scott Shanle left the game briefly in the first half with unspecified injuries but were both able to return and finish the game.
Also, defensive end Junior Galette and defensive tackle Akiem Hicks needed medical treatment for what appeared to be cramping in their legs.
Meanwhile as expected, injured tight end Jimmy Graham, who did not make the trip here to Tampa for Sunday's game, was among the Saints' seven inactive players.
He was joined on the list by running back Chris Ivory, cornerback Elbert Mack, defensive end Turk McBride, linebacker David Hawthorne, defensive end Bryce Harris and defensive tackle Tyrunn Walker.
