Profootball Focus: OL rankings

4. New Orleans

PB = 6th, RB = 6th, PEN = 4th

They’ve lost Carl Nicks and Jermon Bushrod started the season playing like a man who hated Drew Brees. But though it’s taken time they’ve found their rhythm recently and it’s coincided with some wins.

(PB = Pass Block rank, RB = Run & Screen Block rank, PEN = Penalty rank)

I am disappoint. Was interested to see the response to these rankings from the people who chart every snap.

I knew they had improved since the start of the season, had no idea they were that good though! :bng:

Then why can't we run the ball?

My question too. I wouldn't grade our o-line that high for run blocking.

Run blocking includes screens, and we have a ton of yardage from screens.

In our offense, ever since Payton has been here(especially w/ Reggie), a few of us here considered swing and screen passes as an extension of the running game.

Screens are skewing that stat heavily for us. On pure rushing there is no stat that puts us in the top 24.... except for exp.

Agreed. I still don't rank them that high though. Drew's pocket presence and quick release buys them 5 spots in my mind.
