Comebacks, duel with Brees, has Manning embracing present, past

Drew Brees-Peyton Manning V, Sunday night in Denver ... certainly a place neither man ever thought they'd meet for maybe the last time of professional careers likely to end, for both, in Canton.

The personal series is tied at two. Manning beat Brees the Charger in 2004, and then Brees walked into the RCA Dome in his third-to-last game as a Charger, when the Colts were 13-0 in 2005 ... and beat the mistake-prone Manning 26-17. The Colts waxed the defenseless Saints 41-10 on opening day 2007. And, of course, their last meeting: the Super Bowl three seasons ago. Saints up by seven, fourth quarter, Colts driving inexorably to tie, Manning throws and Tracy Porter steps in front of Reggie Wayne for the pick heard round the world. Super Bowl MVP Brees was 32-of-39 that day.

(Porter, the hero of that Super Bowl, plays for the Broncos now, as Champ Bailey's partner at cornerback. He's been sidelined recently after suffering some seizures, so the Broncos aren't sure if he'll play Sunday night.)

Last time, Manning stormed off the field.

We haven't forgotten.

That was way below Peyton Manning. His Dad, especially, knows that. I don't think we'll se that again regardless of the outcome.

Well, Manning didn't have anything flattering to say about the Saints, the City or even the State of LA when he was interviewed up here and I hope they play that interview for the players. Personally, I've lost all respect for Payton and Eli.

Tied at two a piece. I didn't know that. Go Drew!

Peyton is a douche. I will always like Eli because I pick sixes him in eight grade. I hope he is a hall of famer

I'll be at the game even though no one is giving us a snowball's chance in hell of winning.

If we can at least slow down the defensive bleeding Drew will put up some good numbers. What we need is some INT's oh wait Tracy plays with Peyton now. Well actually he will not be playing for either unless the Doctors clear him which is unlikely.

That's what I was thinking ... in order for the Saints to win this one, they have to stop Manning ... pretty tall order and I wasn't sure if they were up for it just yet. Maybe a little later in the season when they've gelled a bit more. I took DEN straight up, but NO against the spread ... I can't see ever giving Brees 6pts and not getting a win out of it.
