FWIW

Mike Triplett points out a statistic that summarizes the Saints’ season so far. They’re the only team in the NFL to score at least 24 points in every game. They’re also the only team in the NFL to allow 24 points in every game.

Don't forget that Spag's defense got off to a slow start in his first season of 2007 and came back and took the Lombardi. I believe this team has more talent than that one, but has had a bit longer of a learning curve. If the offense can keep it up the defense will catch up and the Saints will be in a position the bring home another.

Giants had a much more talented D line than us with - Strahan, Tuck, osi and canty

4 great D lineman there and you know what they say, it all starts upfront

If you can control the line of scrimmage, you control the game

I like that junior is consistently getting pressure and that Cam Jordan is quickly becoming a very dominant player, at the same time i expected more of an impact from players like martez Wilson

Not in anyway doubting we could make a run, I'd love for it happen

Our D line just has to become dominant over night

No, they don't have to get dominant, they just need to get adequate.

We get a middle of the pack defense and we are a contender. Being the worst makes us need to score on every drive because we just about give up that.

I know it's hard to see.....maybe extremely hard to see, but I have to admit that I've been seeing micro improvement in our defense over the last 4 games, and especially in last week's game against the Bucs.

I mean, we must have had about 50 red zone defensive snaps in that game and our defense only gave up 21 points all game, and only 7 points in the second half for what 3 or 4 games in a row? It seemed that towards the end of last weeks game, the defense was starting to feel it. They seemed to be getting into a groove finally. If they can make even a slight improvement this week, we could win this game. I have to say that I'm cautiously optimistic going in.

We're undefeated the whole season if our defense holds opposition to < 19 PPG...

This is the game that is going to show if thid D has gelled or not, Ellis needs to be gone period. A real nose-tackle is needed.

But Strahan was the only incumbent starter in 2007. Tuck was 3rd string.

Ellis can bench over 500lbs. Don't understand why this man is not impacting games. Tired of seeing him get pushed around.

Doesnt matter what he can bench... If you don't have the wheels to move it forward you benchpress your self backwards. If the hips and mid section cant take it you buckle... Its also a lot of technique.

BUST!!!:brood:
On second hand that might be a little harsh, but he sure has underperformed.
