That move should be reserved for franchises that need to rebuild.

This team has a top 3 NFL head coach and QB and staff. There's no reason we couldn't rebound with a few KEY additions on O and D.

Just think if we had an upgrade at DT, OLB and CB. Our defense could be top 12.

And if we upgraded RT and LT - Brees has all day to feast!

Look this season has given me a roller coaster of emotion but right now I'm feeling optimistic about NEXT YEAR. ;)

I'm with you here. We've won 37 games in the last 3 years. What's the difference this year?

Could it be that instead of having one of the best coaches in the league we've had a guy who has never been a HC in his life instead?

What part of that are people not understanding?

I'll b**ch as I see fit, starting with Drew Rockefeller. For 100 Million Dollars, you need to score on every drive, and yes, catch the ball for the receiver, after all you got his money too. I know thats harsh, and ridiculous, but $100M is ridiculous too. (you can disagree with me & thats ok) He should have came to practice this summer, and worried about money and statistics later. Its hard to defend him now to my haters at work, who dont bleed black and gold.

The defense is setting NFL records. 1st team in history to give up 400 yds in 7 consecutive games. Its time to clean house here. Who would do worse?

I've rooted for a lot of .500 or worse teams, who had big days and upset big
opponents, and played some damn good ball, but just couldnt get a break, or just didnt have the magic, or happened to be playing vs. Joe Montana. I have so many good memories of Saints past, and I'm glad for all the time I spent following them.

But this team is a mountain of potential, and a sh** pile of results. (I just invented that phrase myself.) So yes, I am mad. A team with this much
talent shouldnt look like this. We won last week on a technicality.

Im here. Im wearing my Saints stuff at work right now, getting laughed at, and I'll be in my seat for the Falcons game. And if we're losing 50-0 in the 4th Quarter, Im not leaving early. Im here to stay.

well said mike. Hitting on Drew is dead right. along with everything else! You da man

For clarification, I would clean house on DEFENSE. Maybe not Spagnola, and I like Jabari and a couple others...

I respect that. Im probably wrong, but I think what I think.

I also hate replay and wish it would go away. Everybody else would say that opinion is crazy.

Sean Payton is a great coach, and we clearly miss his leadership, but for those who would rather make excuses for this team than to look at reality, consider this:

After Bill Cowher won the Super Bowl with the Steelers and retired, they brought in a guy who I dare say probably none of us had a clue who he was, in Mike Tomlin. He hasn't missed a beat, and has won a Super Bowl of his own, and almost had another.

And after Tony Dungy retired from the Colts, they promoted Jim Caldwell, another no name, to head coach. He promptly takes them to the Super Bowl where our Saints beat him, of course. But last year Peyton Manning couldn't play, and so the Colts went in the tank and Caldwell was fired.

The moral of this post is that while it's nice to have your head coach, if the players are good enough they should be able to continue doing what they do best, regardless of who is coaching them. I would absolutely love to have Sean back, but we still have all our players, and unlike the Colts last year we still have our QB. Yet our offense isn't playing close to the level it was last year, and the defense is non existent despite the fact it actually gained a couple of pieces in the offseason. The play calling could surely be better, but these guys are playing awful. Also, I'm tired of reading posts saying things like "you're crazy if you blame the offense"... They deserve every bit as much blame.

We understand that fully. However it is such a pitty to see all of that go to crap because 1 person is out for a season... Life happens...

Ill put it in business terms. I would be doing my employees and customers a grave disservice if I didn't build some redundancy into my company. If for some reason something happened to me or I had to step away too many people depend on this company to not have someone that can step in with some sort of quality.

You hit the nail on the head... Maybe Spags should have been interim since he has HC experience... Maybe we need a second or third staff member that has HC abilities.

Replay made Dallas lose. For that reason alone I support it. :-)
