Some key Saints players miss practice on Wednesday while getting two others back
 

After practice Wednesday, interim head coach Joe Vitt gave the injury report that included some names that fans had hoped wouldn’t be on there with the game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Those that didn’t practice were: defensive end Junior Galette(ankle), cornerback Corey White(knee), offensive tackle Charles Brown(knee), and cornerback Elbert Mack(concussion).

Vitt did say that White appears to be coming back quickly from his injury which would be a boost for the secondary since cornerback Johnny Patrick hasn’t played that well when filling in.

The Saints also could use Galette in the game against the 49ers to help generate a pass rush and Mack would be good to have back in the secondary since he played well in his last game before leaving with the concussion.

Brown likely won’t play this Sunday, a move foreshadowed with the signing of offensive tackle William Robinson on Tuesday. Offensive tackle Zach Strief was actually listed as limited in practice but if he will play Sunday is another matter.

One player that the Saints did get back was running back Darren Sproles who almost made a return from his fractured left hand this past Sunday. Sproles hand however started swelling and was help back. His presence this Sunday would be greatly welcomed against the 49ers run defense.

I'm still a bit concerned about Sproles' hand.

Fumble-itis if it is NOT 100%.

I love mighty mouse, but I almost don't want to mess with the chemistry we have going with the running backs.
