Saints may have to start rookie tackle

It’s looking like the New Orleans Saints may have to start rookie Bryce Harris against San Francisco’s strong pass rush Sunday.

Zach Strief, the regular starter, is listed as questionable and practiced only on a limited basis all week. Charles Brown, who had been starting in Strief’s place, has been declared out with a knee injury. Cornerbacks Corey White (knee) Elbert Mack (concussion) and defensive end Junior Galette (ankle) also have been declared out for Sunday.

Without Mack and White, the Saints have only three healthy cornerbacks and might be forced to use safety Malcolm Jenkins there if there are any more injuries.

On a positive note, running back Darren Sproles is listed as probable and likely will get his first action since breaking his hand on Oct. 28 against the Broncos.

Jenkins at corner, does that mean Quaddus at FS? Harris looked good to me when he played, did a fine job.

This always happens before an important game somehow...

Someone's got a voodoo doll and knows how to use it!

Rookie tackle? Damn! I sure hope he catches on quick, but it's usually good for a few false start/holding type penalties until the rookie settles down.

A rookie tackle we nabbed off of a practice squad no less.

I look for a lot of help with an extra TE and RB chips. Our OC has his work cut out for him. This is where Sean Payton is needed the most.

Not good at all.

LOL. That's not going to work. Good luck with that.

Well we will employ an extra TE.

And what are the odds that the 49ers do a number on our CBs early, I mean a dirty number.

Okay, more reason to run the ball plenty this week. Move it on the ground and then gash them with the pass, we'll be okay in the dome.
