You know it. Of course it could come back to bite me in the butt also. I\'ll take my chances.

Delhomme, might be able to do it. I don\'t know what he did against the Giants. But, the Panthers O-line should be very weak this year. If Jon Fox and co. can get that line to protect Jake, my hat is off to him. I don\'t see it!!

The Giants defense is not good. They\'ve got a couple of good players, but overall it is weak!!

When teams blitz Delhomme this year, I don\'t think he\'s going to have time to read a book like he did last year.

Whatever happens, I\'ll be here. Ready and waiting. :P

I dunno Saintfan. I think Eli was 9-17 for 112. Not bad for a ROOKIE QB in his SECOND game against the PANTHERS D. He looks pretty mature to me.
Yeah. Lots of dinks and dunks to protect his rookie butt. He missed a few wide open guys when they tried the deep ball, and it looks like that \"lead the WR into the DB\'s cross hairs\" runs in the family. I\'m sure he\'ll get better tho.

To be honest, Delhomme looked great. Steve Smith looks even better. I was getting worried watching that game last night (scouting our enemy), until the announcers said something that made me take what I saw with a grain of salt.

Saintsfan, you must have heard them too. If I am not mistaken, while Delhomme was on the field still playing, the Giants had only Strahan who had started in that position last year. So many injured defensive players, so what we saw was basically Panthers #1 Off. v. Giants 2 or 3 Def.

Delhomme and co. still looked good, but... grains of salt are in order. What I thought was scary about the Panthers is the play calling. They came out firing, passing all over the field rather than running S. Davis. They were innovative! Maybe they realized they could do as they please with the defense.

Now if our offense can get creative again (we are healthy this year, so no excuses...so far)

I tell you that game was like a shot of reality. We play in the toughest division, IMO, in the NFL.

Note: I researched the Giants web page, and saw nothing to corraborate my statement about the Giant\'s defense being basically with only 1 starter from last year.

If they didn\'t use that as an excuse for their sloppy play, I have to admit I mightbe mistaken. But I swear I heard them talking about how the defense had so many starters out due to injury.

Hmmm....anyone else remember anything about this?

St.Shrume --

I didn\'t watch the game, so I don\'t know. But here\'s the deal:

Some folks want to try and make too much of the preseason. (get up horse, I ain\'t done with you yet. )

Take our defense against the Jets for example. Was that REALLY the starting defense we saw on the field?

1. Howard Green isn\'t going to be starting over Sullivan.
2. Tebucky didn\'t play at all.
3. Ambrose started on one side, but will he be the starter on opening day?
4. Courtney Watson started at MLB. But will he start on opening day?

Preseason is an evaluation period. Especially the FIRST game. You\'ve got to put some guys in places they normally wouldn\'t be (the first team) to see how they play.

It doesn\'t mean a whole lot.

Then other teams are doing the same thing on the other side of the ball. It\'s \"fools gold\" I tell ya!! :P
