Sean Payton is not leaving

Sean is not leaving... At this point it is not about loyalty, not about $... It is about revenge and spite... and Brawndo

The man is sharp as a tack and full of Brawndo, he will stay in New Orleans if only to spite Goodell and not let him dismantle what Payton has built. Put your self in Sean Paytons shoes right now... Your pissed... very pissed at what Goodell has done to your empire, your name, your players... You want to spite them, prove something to the world... Hate is the most powerful motivator there is, even more powerful than money...

If you dont know what Brawndo is... You should, it makes you win at winning!

Drink your Brawndo and stop worrying like little girls.

Alot of folks are pointing him leaving because of New Olreans Salary cap issues and poor talented defense.
I for one don't see him leaving. talented coaches understand rebuilding stages and we AREN'T in one by any means. If he took a Dallas job because of the issues in new Orleans he would on be faced with the same issues a few years later... to me thats not enough to leave. If its money he wants the almighty Tom Benson will provide it.

Salary Cap is not the Coaches problem its the GM.
He brought in that poor talented Defense.

He would NEVER go to Dallas. There is nothing in Dallas but Jerry Jones and misery working under him.

**** Dallas, he ain't going anywhere. Why in the world would he trade Drew Brees and a laissez faire owner for Tony Romo and the NFL Emperor Jerry Jones?

Our GM is back.
The organization has said they are willing to make Sean Payton the highest paid NFL coach.
That has NOT happened.

Let's face the facts.

Sean Payton is waiting until the end of the season to see if Jerry Curl Jones fires his coach.
If he does there will be a bidding war and that's when we'll see if the Saints can match the Jerry machine.

If SP was going to stay the deal would be on the table, signed, sealed and over with. End of story.

He must have learned a thing or two from Brees.

What does Sean Payton look like?
Do they speak English in What?
Say Sean Payton may leave one more time.

In all fairness had Tony Romo had a good coaching staff for a 2-3 years I think he'd be a good quarterback. Just me tho..

Dude Romo has been a screw up since high school ! ! !... I don't see what people see n him he always screws up n the big moments when they need him the most... most overrated stupid QB ever... its just because he is Dallas QB that he gets all the hype ....

i see said the blind man. but payton ain't blind. he arn't going coach for jerry gm jones. now take the gm out of that group then i'm scared for us. payton found out just how hot that city is in the summer time.the time it takes to cross town tripples. he plays here at least a season more than he might concider a buyout. what a sham the only thing keeping us out of the superbowl is him, we should be where clowns are right now.

Re: Sean Payton is not leaving

Payton wants to go down in NFL history as one of the best. He knows he has a good thing in his relationship and cohesiveness w/ Brees, and also Loomis. Couple that w/ an owner who pretty much gives them cart blanche and you have a recipe for what he wants. That's what I'm going with until I see otherwise.

Why the holdout? Why not sign and put the distraction away?!?

Who has our front office signed and put away yet? Who has had an early extension or new contract?

Restructuring for the sake of the team does not count.

Fully aware of all of that.. Would go - future tense.

Ill clarify. Sean Payton would NEVER go to Dallas as a head coach.

Sean is known to lean heavily on Parcells for advice... NO head coach of any caliber would ever go to Dallas as long as Jerry still owns it. Just look at the great head coaches that are on the market and NOT going to Dallas because of Jerry. The money is there and yet Jason Garrett is still there managing games very badly.

The fans don't even want to be there with Jerry.

The Cowboys will make a very, very strong offer to Sean Payton, IMHO.

Re: Sean Payton is not leaving

The reason no deal is done is because Payton's agent has to get the NFL to agree on the conditions of his contract, which they're doing right now.
Once the NFL approves the deal, Condon has already offered to make Payton the richest coach in the league. Sean Payton's Saints contract will get done, GM says - NFL.com
Payton won't go to dallas for 3 reasons
1-he has a great relationship with loomis and condon, plus he has total control over his locker room. jones freaks out when he's not allowed in on player-coach-only meetings. that won't sit well with payton
2-with condon willing to pay him the highest salary in the league, there isn't a ton of financial incentive.
3-payton put this team together with loomis. they have the talent they need (offence anyway) to win the whole thing. who would walk away from brees with a loaded backfield to coach a lousy romo, receivers who need to be baby sat and play 1/2 your divisional games in the cold?

Re: Sean Payton is not leaving

I agree with 73, The Oak and Haps.
We all know Sean P was a coach for DC before. On coaching staff that is and that was before he had a place as HC and all that has happened to him here.
I would like to think things can be worked out in business for him to stay around here a bit longer. He will not finish his career with the Saints. I am realistic.
DC, his family is in Dallas.
Co-coaching with Jerry Jones is really crazy.
Ask Johnson .
He left.
Jerry messed himself up in just giving Johnson so many problems.

I am just hoping these Saints can make it 8-8 for the year .
Who, what , where, when, later on that. It is all a guessing game now.

Payton, the mastermind, is sitting at home watching his Saints implode. He is analyzing and scheming in a way he has never been able to do before. He will create a MONSTER in the off-season and the Saints will be THE TEAM next year.

Short Answer Yes.
Long Answer Sorta.... because the amount would be so effin high that I'd buy the team for myself and change the logo and name to Saints II and we'd tag team the entire NFL WHO DAT to the 2nd power.

Yes, if my profession was being a fan of an NFL football team, I would make commercials, promotions, etc. for the highest bidder.

People who are in the pro sports industry are not fans. Fans don't make a living being fans. If fans could make a living being fans, they would sell their services to the highest bidder.

That's business.

Re: Sean Payton is not leaving

I find this whole thing is very difficult to figure out because there's so much going on that we can't see.

IF Jerry Jones is whispering in Goodell's ear, and he is the one engineering this "problem" with the language in the contract -- meddling and phoning Goodell up and saying "Roger, I just had my lawyer read this Saints contact over, and we can't let Payton get away with this" -- then that's one thing. This whole mess with the voided contract DID seem to only pop up when Jason Garrett was really struggling - why NOW? Why wasn't this obvious problem rejected by the league last year? It takes them a YEAR to read a contract extension? THAT's what's bothering me.

And if Roger Goodell is also trying to somehow separate Payton and Loomis, because of their rogue "arrogant" ways, well that's another matter entirely. That is what any school teacher would tell you -- if you have two kids in class who are huddled in the back row cutting up, misbehaving, and giving you problems, you split them up. One here, one there. And Goodell is so ham-fisted, stilted, and so dumb with his handling of punishments and discipline, this almost sounds like something he would come up with to split them up. So they don't keep ganging up on him and embarrassing Goodell and "disrespecting the shield," cough cough.

On the other hand, it really does seem like the only talk or chatter about Payton going to Dallas...seems to be coming from Dallas. Or from people with a pro-Dallas or anti-Saints agenda. You have wildly contradictory articles about the situation, coming out on the same day. So something is going on, whether that something is real or not is anybody's guess.

It might be one of those things where people just say something very vocally because they want it to somehow come true. If you repeat it often enough, maybe it will happen!

Which actually happens a lot in these types of coaching speculation games. Look at the Les Miles Arkansas thing, or Boston College. We want Kromer! No, we want Carmichael! It's a done deal! No wait, it's not, they haven't talked at all! That kind of stuff.
