Mouthy and cowardly Failcons fans

I was out of town and watched the game at a sports bar. Unfortunately there was one extremely assinine fan who insisted on coming to my table and
dancing around shooting his mouth off.
I went to him and tried to be gracious. I congratulated him on a great game that had been played so far. There was still quite a bit of time left. I was as polite as I could be. He in turn showed that he was a typical Failcons fan and doubled his intensity.
I went back after my girl left the bar and congratulated him again on a good win when the game was over. He in turn rubbed it in my face.
I had enough and told him that he would watch his team lose in the first round of the playoffs like they do when they get there. He continued to mouth off and I gave him the choice again of showing some class or backing it up.(what was I thinking?)
I finally told him that he represented his fan base well......just like an ass hole. He would not stand up and back up his team. I was fully prepared to go to jail. If he was going to continue to run his mouth there would be blood running out of it. He of course was a coward and would not back up his mouth. My girl back and kept me from putting a hurting on him.
God, I am so pissed. I won't sleep at all tonight.

He's not worth it. None of them are. Get some sleep cuz he's not in your head.

Yep; know the kind well!

Good move not putting your hands on him, no need to stoop to his level to prove a point... The Giants or SF will handle that for you in a few short weeks...

Typical Falcons fans. They represent their fanbase well. Try to get some sleep and put this ugly loss behind us. Tomorrow is another day. :)

Posting on a message board "your" version of what you claimed happened is the sign of a true coward.

Now for the real story: "I ran my mouth at the bar in good fun, got humbled and reacted badly when taunted, the falcon fan let me have it, I shut my mouth realizing I was out numbered and left out with him cursing at me because I knew I would get my arse whooped if I spoke back."

Reality check delivered!

I agree with 44 and Champs.
Totally. Never .
Some people , like this guy, just don't get it because they have very empty lives, that they are not the team, coaching staff, owner or anyone getting a paycheck from the team.
They are just fans.
Instead , they take team too personal.

You were just NFL football, fan talking, supporting him, and he keeps giving it to you personally. Huh?
Really, he needs to get a life. So if Falcons don't make it pass round one of Playoffs, what is he going to do? Nevermind. Don't answer. Hopefully, he will not hurt someone else but the rude guy is just a fairweather fan of the Flacons.

Saints, my team, lost.
I wish , wish they would have won.
Still, my life goes on just the same.

I have been at sports bars/restaurants when the Saints have won and other fans have commented to me about the Saint's .
I would usually say something, like but it was close or yeah, but , make a joke of sorts like liking this team makes it a weekly heart stress test. No need to go the doctor.
I have seen fans shake each other 's hands.

All you can say , is some people and just shake your head at them and wonder and be greatful your life is not so empty and thankful you live in reality.

Way to practice some self-control Rugby ... you meet all kinds in sports bars,.

I would have helped bail you out of jail.

Atlanta fan, I don't see where the confusion lies? This seems like normal behavior from them. The surprising thing to me is the fact you are surprised by the behavior. That said, I certainly understand we all have moments we are caught off gaurd, so I too would have helped bail you out of jail.

Thanks ya'll. However had my girl not come back in the bar to get me I may have taken up the offers for bail money. LOL

Dear God it's only football. Jeesh.

Bad fans are part of every team's fan base. Never worth to get in a fight over a sporting event. Most of the players really don't take it personal; why should fans?

Players don't take it personal because it's their job and get paid to play and may be on a different team next year. As fans, we live and breath Saints everyday for 50 plus years if we're lucky, of course we will take it personal! Your team wins and mine loses that's fine but don't be a smart azz about it!
You get in my face too much there will be a problem!

So true, but some teams seem to have a noticeably larger and more obnoxious contingent of 'bad fans' then others, eh?

Some men (loosely utilized) have to be taught then re-taught how to act like a man. Sometimes only a beatdown will accomplish that. Cocky jerks ALWAYS need reminding that they are just like everyone else, just having a special day.

Sometimes a special day includes a knuckle sandwich.

Remember, there are taunting laws in most states. If you ask the jerk to stop taunting you and he persists, then tell him what level you're willing to stop beating him at and it that doesn't do it, and he has fair warning...

TAKE HIM TO THAT LEVEL AND DROP HIM OFF.

LOL
