Watching this SEC championship game.
MAN!! I wish our safeties and defense hit like Bamas. Good Lord they know how to tackle and hit. If Jenkins could do that just wow!!

Re: Watching this SEC championship game.
Georgia absolutely blew that game! That was the worst case of clock management I've ever seen. Why in God's name did they run a play at the end instead of spiking the ball?! More to your point though... Mark Barron's been pretty good for Tampa this season so maybe we do need to draft an Alabama safety. The only one eligible for the draft is free safety Robert Lester... So let's get him and send Jenkins back to CB.

Re: Watching this SEC championship game.
I loved watching the Bulldogs crash and burn like that. There were plenty of Falcons fans crowing about the BCS and the NFL Championships both belonging to them.
One down and one to go. They ain't winning crappola this year. Just like usual. |
Re: Watching this SEC championship game.
"Lmao!! I heard that. I never suggested we draft a Bama player. I was just saying I wish we had a hard hitting defense."
lol, I know man. I wish we did too. As much as the defense has improved over the last couple weeks, they still don't hit very hard. Of course, if they did it would be considered a bounty hit. The post below yours is more of what influenced my post. |
Re: Watching this SEC championship game.
I wonder if there will ever be parity in the NCAA. I get tired of seeing the same teams at the top of the polls year after year.
I don't know one thing about Notre Dame this year. I haven't seen one of their games, but it was a long drought there for the Irish. It will be an interesting title game, IMO. |

Growing up, we had Notre Dame, Penn State, U of Miami, Nebraska/Oklahoma, Michigan shoved down our throats... Notre Dame still has its own TV deal with NBC that rivaled earlier NFL contracts... When ND got on its roll this season, NBC and its affiliate networks even started running "Rudy" - I hate that sentimental BS joke of a movie... For years, those that knew and really understood the game, watched as SEC teams would knock one another off our of the polls with one loss and that would be used as an excuse by biased, hypocritical reporters in the North and MidWest to keep the SEC out of it... Well no more...and when the playoffs get here...and if they are not slanted in their setup...you're gonna see SEC football really take off... |

Re: Watching this SEC championship game.
I just wish the playoffs would have had more teams.
4 teams isnt enough.Should have been 8/12/16. |
Re: Watching this SEC championship game.
If you liked the hits in the SEC champ, did you watch Wisconsin-Nebraska? Huge hits in that one.

Case in point, the NCAA basketball tournament had 64 teams. Every year you had a butt load of mediocre teams whining that they got left out. Now there are 68 teams. It's completely absurd. And the saddest thing is that it hasn't slowed down the whining even a little bit. The more you expand, the more teams you have thinking they deserve to be in, and the worse the product becomes. But at least they don't play a brutal sport... Football is, and so this new system is stupid, and it WILL NOT fix anything. College football is different, and people never should have messed with it, IMO. |

Then there can still be Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas, Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, American Standard Concealed Trapway Cadet 3 Right Height Elongated Toilet Bowl or whatever the hell they are called for teams not making the playoffs. However fact is that there is 35 bowl games at the moment and a lot of football fans could't care less about them. teams with 5-7 records were recently made bowl eligble under certain circumstances. |
Re: Watching this SEC championship game.
I go to a bowl game almost every year ... The Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl (previously the Motor City Bowl) ... Dec 26, Ford Field ... Central Michigan vs Western Kentucky ... WooHoo!

Re: Watching this SEC championship game.
Just an observation... I believe some of our backfield used to hit hard in College also... Lets see what those guys do in the NFL...
Its one thing to crash a 5'11" 200lb college back its another thing to throw your self at Steve Jackson or Adrien Peterson. |
