Barkevious Mingo

He should be there. I would love to see him in a Saints uniform. Exceptional player and a quality person.

I like the player he is and him as a person, i just have my doubts

If we do take him i hope he proves me wrong, I just think he may be undersized for DE at the NFL level, as i said if we draft him I'll root for him to prove me wrong

Yeah size is my concern with him too. He is a terrific player however.

Re: Barkevious Mingo

He didn't do anything this past season. Why draft another underacheiving player for our D-Line?

Re: Barkevious Mingo

Move him to OLB. He's projected as the 12th pick.

I love Mingo tooo but Montgomery might be in that area as well and I'd take him over Mingo.

Take off the homer glasses. Not every LSU player is NFL caliber. We have a version of him now with Martez Wilson.

Yeah Mingo is around the same size. And I do think Mingo is NFL caliber just not at the DE position...maybe at OLB. Thats why I like Montgomery better (not homer glasses really just saying skill wise) because he's heavier and is really good at containing the run as well.

I don't this this draft is one to take any chances in.
I think 3 of the front 4 look like they could be decent/good starters in Hicks,Bunkley and Jordan.
Whoever comes in needs to be able to complete that line.Smith has given good service but his salary far outweighs his performance now.

I have not seen enough to see if Mingo can do the job,but without a second round pick this pick has to count and make a difference.

Re: Barkevious Mingo

Mingo has talent but I would not use an early pick on him. If he's available in the 5th round go for it. He's undersized but they can put some meat on his bones.

12th pick for a player that didn't even dominate in college?

Certainly didn't dominate but add some weight he could be a force. I bet he's working on that right now. If he does he'll be a first rounder.

Whoever we pick, let's please keep them at their position

No more of this draft a CB, make a S or draft a LB, make a DE

Re: Barkevious Mingo

HYPE HYPE HYPE

as i said in another thread there will be 2 or 3 solid players in the middle of the first round that will legit. the others will hype or project players with very high ceilings.

if those few players are off the board trade down. the bottom of the first and in the second round all look to be better bets to play in the nfl
