And has Hagan published his Wish List for the Draft?

fa agent signing:

LOT Branden Albert, Chiefs
DE Michael Johnson, Bengals
DT Henry Melton, Bears
DT Terrance Knighton Jags

Goodbye
Sedrick Ellis
Jermon Bushrod
Will Smith
Jonathan Vilma
Brodrick Bunkley

lmao nice pipe dream huh. what was the question? oh yeah draft

draft round 1
Jake Matthews*, OT, Texas A&M
IF HE COMES OUT !!!!!!!
i think he stays so,

Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
Height: 6-2. Weight: 185.
Projected 40 Time: 4.44

He might be the best zone CB in the draft. he fits the size and speed that spags has always loved. pure ballhawk.

Prefer to trade down

round 1
Barrett Jones, G/T/C, Alabama
round 2
Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington

ok back to reality

round 3
Alex Hurst, OT, LSU
Height: 6-6. Weight: 340.
Projected 40 Time: 5.19
Ok lets get a run blocker at RT that has improved his pass blocking.
pefer if Wagner or Aboushi were avaiable here but highly unlikely. keep an eye on Brian Winters/OL/Kent State during the senior bowl.

round 4
Michael Williams, TE, Alabama
Height: 6-6. Weight: 270.
Projected 40 Time: 4.77
I wanted him to come out last year. The saints need a traditional TE. To find this good of a blocker with above average hands is hard to find. think Heath Miller, ok he may not be that good receiving but he aint that far behind.

round 5
Tanner Hawkinson, OT, Kansas
Height: 6-6. Weight: 295.
Projected 40 Time: 4.93
One of my favs for development this year. Might be the quickest OT in the draft.

round 6
Aaron Mellette, WR Elon
Height: 6-3. Weight: 218.
Projected 40 Time: 4.45
Nothing really flashy here but solid hands, good speed and has some good hops. lets see how the senior bowls go for him. i see his stock climbing

My annual bone head player pick

round 7
Washaun Ealey, RB, Jacksonville State
Height: 5-11. Weight: 215.
Projected 40 Time: 4.46

good hands and a solid running back that pissed it all away at georgia.

I can hear the defense draft members screaming already

I mentioned Albert earlier as a definite upgrade at the OT position for the Saints, but I don't think they can afford his services, since there'll be quite a few teams giving him a call once free agency begins.

Johnson has intimidating size and good quickness for that size if I've understood things correctly, so he'd probably be a good guy to bring in if he'd fit Spags scheme - didn't he also play OLB with the Bengals?!

Melton has proven that he can rush the passer in a 4-3 scheme, so while he has some pretty good talent around him with the Bears, he'd probably be an upgrade to Ellis and even to Bunkley.

Knighton could add some nice depth to that DT group, and if he were to sign close to the vet minimum - as he did last time around with the Jags - he'd probably be a better cost/value signing than Melton.

All in all, those would be some nice free agent additions, but I doubt that the Saints could land all of them even if they wanted to, especially Albert.

I do agree with your cuts - and I'd include Shanle as the perennial "not to be re-signed" candidate - but I'd give Bunkley at least another year, because he has had to play a lot with Ellis, and no one will look good when they have to do the job of two man in the interior of that D-line.

I just want Sean P back & everything else will fall into place. You know he has been taking notes and can't wait to stop the decline of his beloved team.

Something tells me to expect bpa coming from the offensive side of the ball since everything about this tram screams defensive help

FS is a priority to set the backfield, an outside linebacker is a must and though improved upfront Ellis is a weak link and always has been he's got to GO, we should be able to get a DE in free agency to replace Smith. , I also think our O needs some fresh meat on the line, they are getting pushed around alot, a new toy for Brees to throw at would be nice also, Payton also might think about a new QB. for the future our 100 million dollar man is getting older and if time is catching up we need his heir.

If he is aviable when we pick I really really like Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State, him and Jordan would form a formidable pair. He i a really high motor guy.

Expected Defensive Backfield moves...

Greer is restructured or outright released...

Jenkins moved to CB; he is not a natural safety and could be an exceptional No. 2 CB and he'll be a great slot nickel coverage back...

Harper will be released as his salary number is not warranted and his cap hit will be deferred over two seasons if we find a starter in the draft or he'll be restructured which I don't get the feeling he's likely to accept...

Corey White may move into the Safety Group with Quaddus and Bush - but we still need at least one natural, bona-fide starter at Safety for camp...

wahoo now for options lol

i really do not think cutting Greer is right but that contract needs to be part of the contracts redone. I change my pick with my first round pick.

previouly it was

Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
Height: 6-2. Weight: 185.
Projected 40 Time: 4.44

ok the knocks on him is his reported 4.4 speed and the cush he gave wide receivers. so his stock may drop during the combine. now there is no way you can over look his ball hawking skills. he isn't a particularly physical tackler

my pick is TRADE DOWN. get a pick in the second.

Kenny Vaccaro, FS, Texas
Height: 6-1. Weight: 215.
Projected 40 Time: 4.47

i would love to see the saints move back into the second and grab

Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington
Height: 6-0. Weight: 184.
Projected 40 Time: 4.42

with the traded pick

T.J. McDonald, FS/SS, USC
Height: 6-2. Weight: 205.
Projected 40 Time: 4.52

Yet another solid zone player that can step in an push for starting time. He is a FS but plays the run better than other FS in the game.

now i have to address RT somewhere lol. But that should change the saints secondary for years to come.

round 4

Sanders Commings, CB, Georgia
Height: 6-2. Weight: 216.
Projected 40 Time: 4.49

Isaiah Johnson*, FS, Georgia Tech
Height: 6-2. Weight: 208.
Projected 40 Time: 4.57

7/FA head case pick - all the talent in the world but has he learned his lessons

Ray Ray Armstrong, S, Faulkner University
Height: 6-4. Weight: 220.
Projected 40 Time: 4.59

Gotta love a guy named Ray Ray, but would it be too much if we could find a Day-Day?!?
