Hate to use those words "RISE UP" they make me ill.

Simple Question just trying to guage where everybody is at.

Jenkins in on your next years Saints d or out...... Converting him back to corner means he's in.....

I'm not a Jenkins hater but two picks in two weeks by Quddus shows who the better safety is in my opinion

For a 1st round draft pick at #14 if my memory serves me right and for him to be under the totoledge of one of the best safeties to ever play the game of football in Sharper, he's a bust at FS. I still believe he could( let me go out on a limb only because of a high draft pick I don't want to see wasted) and say he possibly could become a SS, I do feel he has enough speed for that but his tackling would need to improve for even that to happen, he has the size and speed but for whatever reason up in that coconut head of his the light just seems to flicker on from time to time but never stays on constantly. He also could be trade bait to get us an extra pick in the draft but as a FS, I personally think he stinks and don't ever want to see him line up in the FS spot ever again. Quaddus has the tools to be great at FS and I hope he stays at there for for a long time.

He is doing us no favors at FS. I would be open to see him moved back to CB but if that don't work, he's gotta go.

Not ready to give up on him yet but I hope the coaches play who ever is the best man at the position. Right now that looks like Quduus.

Re-watched the pic yesterday. There was severe pressure in the pocket. Jenkins seldom gets that luxury. Still, you're right, it may be time to re-evaluate the position. Quddus is not some filler undrafted player. The man is making plays.

Personally I don't think he has the speed and ball instincts to be a successful corner back. I think his best role would be in a hybrid defense where he plays the big nickel. Almost that same role Thomas Davis was playing in Carolina. Malcolm has decent tackling, a penchant for making the big play when it comes to tackling just not picking balls from the air. I think Spags is the type of coordinator that will scheme something that allows Jenkins to be successful. Jenkins was trying to play the Sharper role in Gregg Williams defense and he's just not that guy.

Well I thought the move to FS would be a good one... well turns out that wasn't a good idea... Get him back to cb he had too much talent coming in too be this terrible.... CB CB CB !

Jenkins is playing OK, especially of late.

All of our players had to learn an entirely new system.

He's not terrible. Thats nonsense. He had a few really bad games early but improved as the season progressed, as did all of our players on defense.

I just wanna see how Q plays the rest of the season at FS... Maybe he can hold down that position and Jenkins and get back to CB

I have no probs with that. Jenkins may play much better as a zone CB than he did as a man-to-man CB, and I think everyone sees a lot of potential in Quddus.

Remember... Jenkins had an excellent short shuttle (may have been 3-cone) time at the combine. He's probably a natural for zone coverage. Thats probably why many thought he'd make a good FS too.

No thanks, I don't want to move the worst tackling safety in the NFL to SS, and I certainy don't wanna start a 200 lb OLB in this league. He'll be the smallest LB in the NFL in over 40 years.

lets see in ohio state he played man coverage. above average cb

saints tried it and he was below average

moved him to FS in a blitz happy defense and seemed to play best up at the line blitzing and short to mid range coverage.

Now asked to play center field in a zone coverage defense. looked foolish the first half of the season but seemed to be catching on lately.

i have to give him a flyer right now at FS.

Playing SS or slot CB? i would kick it around.

Pressure is the key, I fully believe we are gonna go hard Defensive Ends and DTackles in Free Agency and the draft, that may help Jenkins whether at corner or at saftey..... but to me it's gonna be Quddus's job to lose..... this is Malcolm second season ending injury also....

strong safety or olb in nickel. i have just seen him out of position to many times. taking wrong angles that cost us games/or part of. he is as tuff as they come but he still needs tackling skills. i like him but i was one that also manned up on him this year. maybe he played better for gw, but thats in the past.

Big difference between playing a SS in nickel/dime in the box and a full time OLB.

Why move a pro-bowl SS to OLB? Would you move Vilma to DT? Would you move Greer to SS?

Instead of moving a solid SS to OLB, how about we just sign a competent OLB and keep our best DB at his natural position?

I do! It was because he was a liability!
When Sharper was here he was a coach to the young man. Since he left Jenkins has looked like a lost child in a Mall on black Friday.
We moved him to safety hoping we could somehow get value out of him and we've failed. I know that he hustles but it ain't enough. I hate to say it but i feel like he's another bad 1st round choice.
