OK. Here we go. You should have one through 15, but in case you don't, here's that, plus 16 through 30:

1. Manning
2. Brady
3. Steve McNair
4. Brett Favre
5. Green
6. Plummer
7. Culpepper
8. Pennington
9. McNabb
10. Mike Vick
11. Garcia
12. Matt Hasselbeck
13. Marc Bulger
14. Brad Johnson
15. Mark Brunell
16. Delhomme
17. Aaron Brooks
18. Rich Gannon
19. Kerry Collins
20. Jon Kitna
21. Patrick Ramsey
22. Drew Bledsoe
23. David Carr
24. Tommy Maddox
25. Byron Leftwich
26. Tim Rattay
27. Vinny Testaverde
28. Quincy Carter
29. Kyle Boller
30. Joey Harrington

I notice Gannon is feeling A-OK, throwing with no shoulder pain after his 2003 shoulder surgery. I figure he and Delhomme ought to be moving up once October rolls around.

AARON BROOKS HASN'T EARNED HIS WAY INTO TOP FIFTEENNESS. From John of New Orleans: "There is no way you can convince me that Jake Plummer, Jeff Garcia, Mark Bulger, and Mark Brunell at the very least should be on a top 15 list that does not include Aaron Brooks. That Brooks is not listed makes even less sense to me when you claim that your rankings are based on resume and bright future. Brooks' statistics compare very well in the last three seasons with your top five.''

Well, I'm not sure they do, which is why he's not in the top 15. Though Brooks had his best season last year, I'm still not a total Brooks believer yet. The top 14 guys on my list have quarterbacked in the playoffs at some point in the past three years; Brooks has not. My top five guys are all winners; Brooks is 24-24 since 2001. And let's see if he can take care of the ball a little better than in the last three years when, in 48 games, he's thrown 45 interceptions and fumbled 38 times.
To the sunshiners: He does have Brooks rated over 3 superbowl QB's.

How does Bulger beat him out........oh yeah because he is on the rams. Over the last few years Bulger has three more turnovers than Brooks with 40% less snaps than Brooks! Clearly a bias

Sometimes I want to hurt Peter King. Nothing life threatening of course... ;)

In all seriousness, that list is a joke. If Garcia is the 11th best QB in the NFL, then I just don\'t know what to say. And Plummer at number 6? Give me a break!!

oh christ thats as bad as donovan making the pro bowl last year. yeah its a bias. u know brooks couldnt have made the pro bowl based on his fumbles but what the hell did donovan do? nothing to deserve a pro bowl selection. brooks is a much better qb then donovan. but yet everybody puts him at the top. i dont get it. brooks had 2 reeivers hurt last year n still threw for 3500 yards. its all ridiculous. the saints never get any exposure or respect. we\'ll see

OK, here\'s mine for what it\'s worth:

1. Manning
2. Brady
3. McNair
4. Green
5. Favre
6. Culpepper
7. Pennington
8. Vick
9. Hasselback
10. Garcia
11. Brook\'s
12. McNabb
13. Delhomme
14. Gannon
15. Carr
16. Leftwich
17. Johnson
18. Bledsoe
19. Rattay
20. Brunell
21. Harrington
22. Bulger
23. Maddox
24. Testaverde
25. Boller
26. Collins
27. Kitna
28. Carter
29. Ramsey
30. Plummer

This list is based on my opinion, past performance and future outlook.

I don\'t agree with King... but this is disturbing:

It\'s disturbing if you take it at face value. But when you really look at things, it\'s nothing like what Mr. King suggests

On Brooks interceptions:

2001 - 22 interceptions
2002 - 15 interceptions
2003 - 8 interceptions

What the hell more can the man do? He\'s improved EVERY year and it now tops in the league for least interceptions allowed. In the famous words of gatorman -- NUFF SAID!!

Now, he needs to cut down on the fumbling. That\'s all Mr. King needed to say. I can make the Pope sound like a pimp if I want to. :P

OK, I\'ll post my: \"The Pope is a pimp\" write up tonight. That\'ll be a tough one but I think I can pull it off.

Have you ever noticed that pimp-moblie the Pope rides around in? ;)

Good to see you\'ve picked up on it. I was worried that my user name was too subtle... ;)

At any rate, I agree with King that Brooks is a mediocre QB. I don\'t see him as an elite player. He hasn\'t proven that he is a winner, kind of reminds me of Jim Everett, outstanding one week, cover-your-eyes awful the next.

I\'m not sure that I\'d rate Plummer as a #6 talent, but you have got to admit that his entire career at Arizona was him playing without a running game, without consistently good recievers and with him constantly playing from behind.

CheramieIII 08-24-2004 07:34 PM

I kind of agree with Peter King?

Plummer has\'nt done anything since college and he really was\'nt spectacular then either. He has alot of weapons in Denver and has\'nt show anything the last couple of years. If there were more than 30 on the list, he would always be at the bottom of mine.

BrooksMustGo 08-24-2004 07:55 PM

I kind of agree with Peter King?

I\'m going to quibble on the weapons in Denver.

Smith(Not Smart ((I\'m so embarrassed by this goof)) is done.
McCaffery was pretty good in the slot, but he has needed to hang it up since he broke his leg.
Lelie makes Stallworth look like an over-achiever. (Incidentally we have to determine whether Lelie is a draft bust before we even think about labeling Donte like that)
Sharp was the best receiving threat Plummer had last year.

Again, not saying I\'d put Plummer at #6, but the guy is better than his teams have let him show. I\'d probably put Plummer in the top half of QBs in the league until he\'s actually shown something. In that regard, he\'s not unlike Brooks, except he can throw a touch pass.

And who are all these weapons Brooks has had to throw to? Joe Horn was very good for a couple of years. But what other great weapons has Brooks had to throw to?

Pathon? Hmm.... He\'s an average receiver.

Stallworth? Hmm.... He hasn\'t been healthy enough to stay on the field.

Conwell? Hmm.. He hasn\'t lived up to his hype.

Maybe all these receivers live up to the \"hype\" this year, but they\'ve been one of the BIG problems.

Gator, come on dude. I have made no prediction for a 12-4 season this year. If fact, I\'ve said this team could finish anywhere from 8-8 to 11-5.

What do I have to do to convice you I\'m NOT sold on this Saints\' team, gator?

Call me out on what you consider to be \"sunshine\" posts, But don\'t just make stuff up. You are battling yourself, gator, \'cause I\'ve said no such thing.

Don\'t know what point you\'re trying to make since I said in this VERY thread that Brooks\' fumbles hurt us.

But you just set yourself up for a rude awakening with this post gator.

Check our your FAVORITE boy Delhomme !!

Jake Delhomme interceptions - 19
J. Delhomme fumbles lost ----- 6

Total turnovers by Jake Delhomme - 24

Now, I said Brooks fumbles hurt us. But how did the Panthers get to the super bowl when Jake Delhomme turned the ball over 24 times?

Either you can answer that, or we can just make small talk?

Gator --

Are you trying to tell me I need to start a poll to find out how I feel about this Saints\' team?

Look gator... When you log on here you go directly after my posts. That\'s cool with me. But come up with a good arguement about the topic at hand.

I think the \"logic\" behind my reply to your post is pretty clear and relevant.

Man, you can say what ya want, but I a\'int taking it to a peronal level with you. Not going there.

gator -

1. I don\'t want to be a mod.

2. I can see through you like a window.

3. This is silly.

Man, I\'m not here to preach to you. What you do or say doesn\'t affect me. At all. What you need to understand is I do not wish to participate in these conversations. It seems to me that you get too upset at times and go places that are \"questionable.\"

Maybe you don\'t get that upset, but that\'s the way it APPEARS to me. And the only way to fight fire is with fire. I can\'t go there. I know what happens when I go there. Now, I don\'t know what happens to YOU. But I know what happens to ME.
Nothing good can come of this.

Besides, I\'m here to talk about football. That other stuff was fun back then, but it\'s not anymore for me. Now, I can take a joke as well as the next guy.

But, it\'s become a little much.

Do I sound like I\'m whining? Because I feel like I sound like I\'m whining. For the record, I\'m not whining. LMAO!!

Stop the presses, I\'m running to AB\'s defense. First, I post a positive review of the GB game, then I run to AB\'s defense. Someone, quick, get a toxicology report on me b/c Billy must have injected me with some sunshine serum.

Funny that you would bring up Everett, BMG. Doesn\'t he hold just about every Saints passing record, except for the few AB has broken? I\'m not sure what more you want then that. Afterall, we ARE considering these guys as INDIVIDUALS, right? Winning is a team effort no?

No question, Brooks has had his problems. No question, he got paid before he deserved it. No question that he has been inconsistent and needs to step up and prove himself (preferably this year). All that said, I have to agree with Billy. Listen, I\'ve been down on the guy more than just about anyone here. He has matured VERY slowly and he has COST the Saints games. All that said, he is an ABOVE AVERAGE talent. I would agree, that right now, it is hard to say that he is top 10. His numbers in TDs and Yards have been there. Last year, his efficiency improved greatly. This year, if he is consistent and can act at all like a leader, he\'ll be going to the Pro Bowl. That\'s my two cents.

Talented yes in the mold of Everett , and has the same burning history . Fast start and nothing but potential afterwards .Jumpin Jimmy sure had a nice smile after he threw a pick too .....

Saintfan I do not know what to tell you on this matter of a conspiracy theory , it looks like Hasbeen has effectively surrounded Fumbalaya Brooks with enough sad competition to actually make Brooks look good ....

Bouman is a bust and the jury is still out on J.T. , if Brooks goes down for any length of time the season could be over .......All the potentially effective back ups the Saints had are starting for play off teams ..... ;)

Had good material to work with , One minute Hasbeen is saying Jake aint good enough to play for an injured Brooks and the next minute Jake is playing in the Super Bowl .The copy cat coach does not have too many positions up for grabs this year .Those that do not smoke themselves from the roster spot will most likely pull up lame and allow the back ups on the field .
