I'm by no means trying to argue but IMO yes, those 2 INTs will go down in Saints lore just like "Hakim drops the ball" but really what did he do besides those 2 plays while he was a Saint?

He was a decent CB that made a couple of memorable plays. The fact that he looked really bad here for the last two years and was benched in Denver should tell you he's not nearly the CB some claim he is. He is mediocre.

Well I'm not a fan of Porter by any means and I was glad to see him go elsewhere rather than see the Saints re-sign him, but in all honesty, the nickle role he was forced into with the Saints didn't suit him at all and the biggest reason why his season with the Broncos wasn't really successful was his injuries which kept him off the field.

But, the question here remains: what constitutes a successful pick?!

Not all successful picks end up being franchise players for the team that picked them, no matter where they are picked in the draft, and when players like Porter play a crucial role in the eventual first SB trophy being brought to a franchise - one could easily say that picking him was a good call by the franchise. I'm talking about a "right guy - right situation" type of a deal, which in all likelihood wouldn't have happened if the another guy was originally picked instead of the player that was.

I'm merely saying that there are more layers to this evaluation process than just just determining whether the player picked ends up being a top 5 player at his position.

Oh, and its a proven fallacy - many times over on these boards - the claim that the Saints always miss on their 1st round picks. They actually have a pretty decent track-record during the last decade, a record that could be favorably compared to the record of many other franchises during that same timespan.

What I don't get is why the Goodell and his associates who denied taxpayer and consumer accountability is not being addressed?!?

Consider Goodell's misguided vendetta sabotage example of the Saints season this year...

Goodell's arrogance in defying the request of disclousure of the evidence to...

First, the Louisiana taxpayers who's money his league has taken for upgrades to the Superdome and the Benson Tower Spire purchased with taxpayer money...

Second, the consumers, some of those same taxpayers, who buy NFL products including, but not limited to Game Tickets, Network Television Packages, Merchandising...

Why is he not being forced on this issue?!?

He's has tried to avoid a truthful, forthright, DUE Process of an examination of the facts, which has Goodell feels his CBA is above common law of our land...

PEOPLE, HIS ACTIONS BASED ON HIS INTERNAL REPORTS REQUIRE ACCOUNTABILITY IN THE LIGHT OF DAY TO TAXPAYERS ...

AND IF IT IS SHOWN THEY CAN'T PROVE THEIR CASE ON THE PART OF THE PLAYERS, THEN...

GOODELL AND THE LEAGUE OFFICE SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO...

RETURN ANY AND ALL FINES TO THE TEAM THAT IS FINANCED BY TAXPAYERS AND LEAGUE CONSUMERS...

RETURN BOTH DRAFT PICKS TO THE LOCAL AFFILIATE OF HIS ORGANIZATION, THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS, THAT HIS LEAGUE SOLICIT AND MARKET SAID TAXPAYERS AND CONSUMERS...

FINANCIAL RESTITUTION TO THE STAFF WHO WERE'NT GIVEN DUE PROCESS THAT IS THE COMMON RIGHT OF ALL CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY...

AND HE SHOULD AND STAFF WHO ADVOCATED THE POSITION OF AVOIDING, LIMITING PUBLIC DISCLOUSURE OF THE LEAGUE REPORT SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE WITH THEIR JOBS AND ANY FUTURE PENSION OR EARNINGS FROM THE LEAGUE...
