Carmichael made it appear at times and failed epically in the 4th quarter with a lead, Sean Payton won't let us fail

Carmicheal's failure was going into the fourth quarter with a two score lead not realizing we were really one score down thanks to Spags. If they keep him the movie'll have to be called, "The Wrath of One Handed Sean" and he'll need fifty points a game just to win yet another squeaker.

Personal for the architect carries a lot more weight... Players do not impact the retribution as much as the head coach does. Payton can make a statement.

It counts for any football or team sport. Not sure how it wouldn't.

that exactly what i was going to post. all i read in the offseason was how mad this team will play and the whole league better watch out, well, that didnt work out well for us, so ill wait till after game one is over next year

Keep in mind it wasn't just an off season full of drama that they could bounce back from...

The dama kept coming weekly for the first 1/2 of the season...
There was never a clear line to put things behind them and recover from.

I'm sorry but the players let everyone down. Look at Indy. Their coach gets replaced early in the season due to illness and they rallied around him and over achieved.

Our players new in advance what was going to happen and looked like a bunch of stumble bums for 6 games. This team should have been able to run on "autopilot". Just look what Barry Switzer did with Jimmy Johnson's team. Stood on the sidelines while the players did what they knew how to do. Just shows how mental the game really is.
