Pass coverage is a must for the OLB's. I just don't know if he's got the pass coverage skills to excell there.

I wonder though, now that we've gone to a 3-4 if he'll stop trying to put on weight (apparently difficult for him) and perhaps drop some weight in order to increase his agility and play that outside spot?

Well, there's no guarantee that the Saints are even going to re-sign Galette, although one would think that they'd keep him around since he won't brake the bank as a RFA.

But like Danno, I question whether he can really play the OLB position on a 3-down basis since he doesn't have the coverage skills needed for that position whether it be the strong or the weak side.

I can't see Galette making it at OLB in our new 3-4...

Right now we have:

Wilson|Lofton|Hawthorne|Draft

I think we gotta draft our OLB opposite Wilson...

Wilson concerns me in coverage much more than Galette. However, to be honest I think our LBs are already set for the 3-4, Galette and Wilson will do fine. I am concerned with our NT situation. Hicks and Jorden will make great 3-4 DEs (hicks will be amazing there), but who plays NT?

Still have F.A. and the draft to go; we weren't going to have all the pieces in place with such a drastic scheme change

Bunkley and a couple acquisitions either in the draft and/or free agency.

Bunkley excelled at it.

Year one is probably a 2 or 3 man rotation at the nose.

I wouldn't be suprised if our front 3 were;

Tom Johnson at RDE - natural DT in a 4-3 but he is a big guy with good speed
Cam Jordan at LDE - this is a given, Cam Jordan is a beast
Akiem hicks at NT - he has the size and the play making ability to be that player, he could become a haloti gnata type of player, it would be awesome

Ofcourse I think this will change around the draft, DE and OLB should be drafted

Imagine if our 4 LB's went
Jack - Tez Wilson
2 ILB's - lofton and Hawthorne
And then we drafted another OLB, it would be great

Hicks was born to dominate the 3-4 DE position. Jordan at RDE, the weakside to exploit his pash rush ability and Hicks at LDE because of his power/speed ratio.

Hicks at NT would be wasting his speed/agility.

That sounds good to me then

Either way I'm really excited about this change to 3-4 and if the players fit into that formation the way we think they will, our D will be exciting to watch
